Summer In Melbourne
Boy is it hot !! It is currently in the low 30’s, here in sunny Wantirna South (for those of you who don’t know where that is, it is an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne). Makes a nice change to have Summer weather, particularly seeing as how it is the first day of Summer, after all !! I even have the air-conditioner on, as our house warms up rather quickly.
Our Melbourne weather is so unpredictable, it can be really frustrating. However, I know that is one of the things that makes me love it here. I don't think I would want to live anywhere else. I love Queensland, but I think I’ll save it for holidays … don’t know if I can cope with warm weather all year round. I love to put on warm clothes in the Winter (and Summer, sometimes, too !!). I love to put on our ducted heating, and snuggle up under a fluffy blanket. I love the sound of rain falling on the roof. I love the snow.
That being said, I am glad it is Summer. There is nothing nicer than a sultry warm Summer’s evening, where all the doors and windows are open, and you can sit outside listening to the cicadas singing, and the mozzies buzzing, having a few drinks with friends. Bliss !!
I love Melbourne !!!

Your making me home sick! I lived off Stud rd for 15 years, that was when it was all apple orchards.
I nearly had a cow when we went back to visit Madi and the family, Knox was so much bigger! I went to Wantirna South primary school on Tyner road! My high school was Fairhills High! Memories ehhhh.
Glad your having some warmer weather :o)
Sorry you're homesick !! We are off Stud Road, near Ferntree Gully Road, down near Cathies Lane (if you can remember where that is !!). Seems it is a small world, isn't it ??
OMG, really? Guess what, i used to live off Cathies Lane too, down the High st Road end though, Fonteyn Drive. My husband and i used to be dept managers of Safeway in Scoresby!
We moved up here January 1990,so nearly 16 years! Been back for visits a number of times, last time xmas 2 years ago, and yes, it looked so different!
It'll be even more different soon, as they are building a new freeway (well, tollway) linking Mitcham and Frankston, which is going right along Cathies Lane, so it'll be rather too close to my house. Hopefully they will sound-proof it nicely.
