Those Noisy Cockatoos ...
As a follow up from my previous post about my weekend away, here is the video of the noisy White Cockatoos (or maybe they were Correllas, not sure !) I was telling you about. The video was done on my still digi-camera, so the quality is not brilliant, but I think you will get the idea ... the reason I wanted to share was so you could hear what we had to hear ... ALL DAY !!
The birds were really cute, though ... they were showing off to the camera (at least I reckon they were !!). I had to show it really small, as when it was bigger, it lost even more quality.
Anyway, this might drive you bonkers ... it goes for about a minute !! As I said, we had to put up with this noise all day !!! So much for a peaceful weekend !!
Enjoy !!!

OMGosh!! You poor, poor thing. I think I would have taken the blade, lol!
It wasn't as bad as it sounds, really ... you got quite used to it !!! It was at it's worst on Saturday, the other 3 days weren't too bad, they were further away, and we didn't really hear them (other than early morning, and dusk). The Saturday, they all lived in the tree beside our tent ... that's what you can hear !!
Bird sounds make me wince.
Angel ... I know what you mean !!
I love it , not that you weekend was listening to it but the video , We dont have these type of birds here and it gives me a slice of your world , I like the sound but proably wouldnt if I had to listen to it all wekend , maybe they thought you were a CAT MEOW !LOL
Greeneyes
Greeneyes ... The Cat's Meow ... that's so cute !!! The sound is ok in small doses, and I guess it wasn't really that bad ... you did get used to it. We tried to drown it out occasionally with music, but it didn't always work. I guess it grows on you !!!
Take care, Greeneyes ... Meow xx
Good grief! Those birds would drive me bananas!!
Your campsite looked so nice and I would love to have been by that campfire. I'm not a fan of sleeping outside of a read bed though.
I'm glad you had a nice time, except for those pesky birds.
Jamie ... thank you, it was a comfortable campsite, and the campfire was oh-so-warm. The toasted marshmallows weren't half bad, either !! As I said on another comment, you do sort of get used to the birds !! No choice, really !!!
Take care, Meow
True Blue Guy ... you are so right, the birds were much better than traffic. Love your new look on your blog, by the way !!
Take care, Meow
thank you Meow! I think i could sleep to that and use it as white noise.
Chloe ... sleep to that !!! I do hope you're kidding !?!?!? Luckily they quietened down at night !!
Take care, Meow
The twenty-eights at Perth's domestic airport are deafening at dusk.
We went to see someone arrive some months ago and couldn't believe the volume.
Rodney ... you came !! Thanks for visiting. Twenty-eights ... never heard them called that before !?!?
Take care, Meow
Oh I don't envy you..ugh..Have u tried ear plugs?
Cockatoo I love them. But not that many. Alone they don't make too much noise.
With that noise you'll be shouting at each other to be able to hear one another.
LOL They really are noisy! And there was a dog there too! But I guess in the whole context we don't really mind the nature noises...hopefully! :)
Heidi ... it wasn't really that bad !!! You got used to it !
DaybyDay ... yes, it did become background noise, sort of. If you didn't focus on it, you didn't (really!) notice it !!
Fridays Child ... the volume went up and down ... usually up !! We sometimes had to shout to be heard !!
Susie ... I'll email you !!
Devil Mood ... there were a couple of dogs at the next camping area, who occasionally came to visit (and pooh !!). But, yes ... it was all nature, and it was a great weekend !
Take care everyone, Meow
Those birds were cute but the sound they made got annoying after a while :). Thanks for sharing that Meow and nice to see some blue sky ... haven't seen much of that here lately.
They can be annoying but the sound has surely reminded you of the beautiful creation of God.
Glad you had a great weekend! Nice pictures and thanks for sharing them.
Clare ... thank you ... hope the sun starts shining regularly in your part of the world soon.
Viamarie ... thank you, too.
Have a great week, take care, Meow
