A PINCH AND A PUNCH FOR THE FIRST OF THE MONTH ....
Where I live, this is a common custom, particularly with the kids, where on the first day of the month they try and sneak up to you and call out these words, whilst actually doing the actions (hopefully not too hard !!) ... adding afterwards "No Returns", so that you cannot do it back !!! Those who are fast thinkers often respond ... A FLICK AND A KICK FOR BEING SO QUICK !!!

Hi Devil Mood ... It was quite funny, my hubby and I snuck up on our daughter, and beat her to the punch (so to speak) !!! Of course, we didn't do it hard ... just a gesture, really, but boy was she annoyed that we got in first !!! Have a great day, Meow
You got me. I quite forgot the date. Now I'll have to say it to someone else. Trouble is there is no-one til the end of the day when they all come home and then they'll get me :-)

That's a new thing to me! I don't think I will participate as very few here would be familar with it and I might get pinched (or punched!) back harder than I did it to them.
There probably are a lot of different customs in the various parts of the world that we never know about. Now if it was a kiss...
"A" got me this morning, but i got her back and told her "It's opposites day" ...hehehe so she got the pinch and punch!

DaybyDay ... we do the Jinx thing, too. The other person can't talk until their name is said twice !! When we se a VW bug, we say "Punch Buggy", and then punch someone in the arm .... how silly !!!

Hi , I've never heard of this Meow! Its so interesting to learn about other country's customs. Especially the kids games, they seem to stay on forever!
never heard of it!! The closest we come (in sunny California, US) is pinching people on St. Patrick's Day if they aren't wearing green....Yours is great. We'll see if we can start a new custom...
DaybyDay ... yes, we do Aprils Fools Day, but I am never clever enough to come up with something original.
Kyahgirl ... kids have some incredible things, and it is fun when they do the same sort of stuff we did as kids.
Jay ... never heard of pinching anyone of St Patricks Day. With this one, though, it is fun trying to beat your kids at it ... they get most annoyed when you do. It's quite silly, but a lot of fun.
