I Can't Believe It's December !!!

Oh My Goodness ....

It is the First Of December ... where has the year gone ???

A PINCH & A PUNCH FOR THE FIRST OF THE MONTH

It is officially Summer here in Australia .. whoo-hoo !! And from all reports, it looks like we are in for another scorcher. I cannot imagine a "White Christmas" ... that is just something I see in the movies, picture books, Christmas cards, and, of course, all the wonderful photos shared by all you Northern Hemisphere blog friends. I guess the same (although opposite, but you know what I mean!!) can be said by those of you in the Northern Hemisphere about our "Sunny Christmas". It's what you are used to, I s'pose !!

Only 3 weeks left of primary school for kids here in Victoria ... less for those in high school. Then they don't go back until the end of January ... not as long a Summer break as many of you on the other side of the big pond get, but it is a decent break just the same. As I've mentioned before, my Chicky will be starting Year 7, which is the first year of high school here. A big step for her, going from being the eldest year-level at a school, to being the babies again !! I'm sure she will handle the transition really well, but it will be a bit scary, I imagine !!

I haven't written any Christmas Cards yet ... ooops !! Please forgive me, for those people who I plan on sending cards, if you don't receive one until after Christmas !!!! I haven't had a chance to do any yet, and it may still be a few days before I can.

I finally thought about my Christmas present shopping list. It's not looking quite as daunting as I thought it would. I can probably get most of the gifts done in one or two shopping sessions ... yay, that works for me. I HATE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING !! Well, it's not so much Christmas Shopping, it's more that I hate shopping around Christmas time ... there is a difference, really there is !! Everything is so crowded ... I am not a big fan of crowds. I hate waiting in the queues at the registers in the shops. I have never been a fan of shopping at the best of times ... I go there, get what I need, and get out as quick as I can ... how boring am I !?!?! Oh well !!

I plan on putting up my Christmas Tree over the next couple days ... I usually like to put it up on the 1st December (whoops, that's today !!), but the way my life is at the moment (busy), it may not happen quite like that !! I will share some photos, hopefully, when I have it all done.

I had better go now, too much to do, too little time. I hope my life can get back to a slower pace soon ... maybe that should be what I write on my Christmas List for Santa !!

Have a magical weekend, everyone.

Take care,

MEOW

Aww, your blog is really cute. I'm not really a "cat person" but I think if I stayed on your blog for awhile I'd go through a serious conversion.

Good luck with X-mas shopping, I hate it too, but I'm slowly but surely getting through my list.

Silverneurotic ... thank you. I know not everyone is a cat lover, and I guess cat-haters would cringe coming to my blog .. but I like it !!! My Christmas shopping is going to wait another week ... money is needed for other things, bugger !!

Chloe ... thank you. I know I can send e-cards, and I may just have to do that !! I will still try to write cards. Good luck with your tree. Don't think I will get to mine today !!

Take care, hugs, Meow

I went to Nassau, Bahamas one time near Christmas. It was very strange to have 75 degree weather and hear Christmas tunes playing in the nearby shops. Here we have about 20 more days before winter starts, but there is talk of snow for tomorrow.

I love your dancing cat headshot, and the screen cleaner in the side margin (the cat licking the computer screen).

Still an hour to go before it's December here but I'm already feeling the December spirit - it's a good one and it should be without stress so...don't go over the top if you can't do everything 100%, it's Christmas :)
Have a good weekend!

Glad to see the blog is back Meow, a bit disturbing when you had been talking about the change to Beta.

Tara ... I guess that would have been a strange experience. I know it would be strange for me to be in the snow for Christmas !! I'm glad you like my various kitty-cats !!

Devil Mood ... thank you. It is really hard this year to do everything I want to, with so much to do that I have to (but not necessarily want to), if you get what I mean !! I'll get there ... better late than never, I 'spose !!

Nasty Nashe ... Nope, it doesn't snow. It can be really, really hot.

Peter ... thanks. It was scary, not seeing my blog ... it was there, but the screen was blank. I could access it through dashboard, and comments, but not normally. Whew, I thought it was a goner !!!

Take care, Meow

Hello Meow, I cannot believe it is December either and Christmas is almost on top of me, I don't think I am going to do much at home re decorating as I wont be here anyway.
I must do something about cards and presents however. I cannot turn into Uncle Scrooge altogether. Thanks for visit to my site.
Cheers Margaret

Hi Meow ~~ Are you still having problems? Was Peter able to help you save your posts? You are a busy lady
and need to get some rest before
Christmas. Glad you have the shopping figured ~ that is half the battle.
Thanks for comment on the Miracle, it
was a lovely story. Take care and have a terrific weekend, Love, Merle.

Congratulations on your blogging anniversary and a wishfull -white- Christmas to you and your daughter.

It's funny that you can't imagine a white Christmas, not that we are likely to get one here. I just could not imagine it being as warm as you get it in Australia at Christmas. It just wouldn't feel like Christmas somehow. The weather is still really mild here for the time of year and it doesn't feel like December at all for that reason.

Have a fab weekend Meow.

Wow, I can't believe it is SO warm by you. I'm gonna send you some snow somehow....

I have no idea where this year has gone to, either! It's flown by far too quickly...I've not gotten over last Christmas, yet!

I know the first of December...my goodness how time has just flown by. We are getting our tree too this weekend.

Its hard to imagine that your are starting your summer and we just had a week of snow and ice. Wow....

Have a great week!!

I wish we had your sunshine and high tenps here right now - I love the snow but am longing for blue skies. Don't worry - you (we) still have lots of time to Christmas shop :)

Happy Blog Anniversary~!

Like you, we ONLY have very summery weather christmases in Belize. An occasional cold front and rain also is possible at this time of the year.

Thanks for the reminder about the christmas tree, etc. I need to get to work right away =)

Best of luck to Chicky on her transition from elementary to high school. Always an unnerving experience at the beginning.

Tata for now,

Enid~

Hi MeowMeow,
Like you, I get fed up with the crowds, too. I was in Grand Plaza the other day and could hear a woman venting very loudly that she hated crowded malls, shopping and Christmas in general. I though that was rather sad, but maybe she just wasn't having a good day.

Must go and battle the throngs again!

Cheers

Robyn

Ugh! Summer? Christmas trees? I think I need relief. Two days ago the temperature here was in the 70s (F); today it is in the 20s. I need to come to your side of the equator!

I twice spent Christmas in hot weather on the Canarian Islands (Spain) and this year will be the 3rd time but in Egypt. I found it great that Palm trees were decorated and a Father Christmas swam in the swimming pool ! Much better than a "white Christmas" ! Probably I have been born on the wrong side of the world. So far no CATastrophies here, but don't forget your cat report on tuesday lol ! I hate Christmas shopping too because of the crowd and things are more expensive too !

I like your cute cat with a santa hat.

Just came from a Christmas Bazaar in the neighborhood and there were just too many people there. Hope I get to finish my shopping before the 15th. There are a lot of activities lined up both at work and at home from the 16th onwards.

Hope you enjoy your shopping.

I'm loving the fact that it's December, even though it's the darkest time of the year just because of the Christmas lights. I hope you get all your shopping and cards done - it's not called "the silly season" for nothing :)

We had our first snow storm today! I am dreaming of a white Christmas! Take care, Meow. xo

Hi Everyone, and thanks for all your comments. I won't answer individually, but do want to let you know how much I appreciate your visits. I have more or less finished my typing now, so on with Christmas. Hopefully I can now get some normality back into my life.
Take care, Meow

I just got your comment about Germany. Isn't that funny that we hold so much on these traditions even if we live since generations in another country ? I am since over 40 years in Belgium, but these traditions I always kept. And our son who never lived in Germany he does it too (he is 33) ! Weihnachten to him is something special and he doesn't like when it's not celebrated the "german" way. Do you still speak german ? I kept it quite good, because of my work and also with the TV. I don't have any family there anymore but still a couple of friends who went to School with me !

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Gattina ... I answered your comments on your blog !!! Yes, I still speak German, and we continue to follow the German Christmas traditions my family brought over from Germany in the late 1950s.
Take care, Meow
