I've Finished .... Yay !!

Yay, I have finally finished the Grade 6 Yearbook, that I have been working on for what seems like forever !!! There is a page or two of finalizing that still needs doing, but the bulk of the work is done. No more sitting at this darn computer till all hours (well, at least not typing ... blogging, perhaps, though !!). What a weight has been lifted off my shoulders !! It was really starting to stress me, not having time to do stuff I wanted to (although I did want to do the Yearbook ... I had volunteered, and I did enjoy doing it.). Now, I can get down to writing out Christmas cards (hopefully I will get them out by the end of the week, and hopefully the OS ones will arrive sometime this year ... perhaps not before Christmas, but somewhere near there would be nice !!). I also need to get down to some serious Christmas shopping. I will be starting Thursday (pay-day!!). Fortunately, I pretty-much know what I am getting people, so that makes it easier.

I took some time out over the weekend to put up my Christmas tree, and decorate my house a little bit. I think I need to buy some more decorations for the house (the tree is fine), but for the time being, it will have to do. I took some photos ... hopefully Blogger will let me share them with you !!

Here's my Christmas tree ... it is an artificial one, but I like it. Being Summer here, I don't find real trees very practical, as they drop their needles too quickly. And, we go away on Christmas day, not returning until mid-January, so you can imagine the mess on my floor if we had a real tree !! I guess a real tree, growing in a pot, would be OK, though. Worth thinking about, I guess !!

I picked this up last year ... I just love it. It has little numbers, so you can count down the days until Christmas. Chicky enjoys changing the numbers daily, along with removing a chocolate from her Advent Calendar.

I found this little guy a few years ago ... my mum has the same one. He is really cute, quite heavy, and looks very proud standing there.

These are a couple of Christmas Stockings I made, probably about 15 or so years ago. As you can see, I was already mad about cats then !!

There you go, just a little glimpse of some of my favourite Christmas decorations. I have many more, some hand made, some store-bought, some that I received as gifts. I have a few special decorations on my tree, that I have received from a couple of wonderful bloggers ... you know who you are !! They look wonderful ... I should take a photo of them, just so you can see where they now are !!

I must go now ... places to go, people to see. I hope to drop by many of your blogs in the next day or so ... look out for me, won't you !!

Take care, have a great day ...

MEOW

Tab ... thank you. I am so glad it is done ... look forward to seeing it all printed and bound ... the end result !! I hope little Jasper doesn't destroy your tree ... I have a squirter bottle nearby, in case Bambi gets it into her head to climb ours ... she loves climbing trees !!

I'm glad you finished your project, Meow. Maybe you'll have more time to come out and play now. ;D

Loved seeing your tree and decorations. They're gorgeous! I don't have many of my decorations out this year, just a few, and my little scrawny 4-foot artificial tree is up. Jessica and Jason put it up and decorated it for me Monday.

Hope you're having a good week, take care Miss Meow. :-)

Nothing to do ! You can't deny your origins. A not too overloaded Christmas tree and the other decorations I almost have them too ! We use since years an artificial Christmas tree, because of the cats ! When they were babies they used to climb in there (if they could) But now these trees are so nicely made you hardly can see the difference. Only the smell is missing and of course the needles on your floor !
I can imagine that your parents are homesick especially at this time of the year !

Congrats on finishing the yearbook..something that Chicky and you can look at together as time well spent. Your christmas tree is beautiful :)

I am taking this opportunity also to make an appeal from the heart to everyone who visits here on the following subject matter:

This is a "critical" week in the development of the Tour Bus project for the Sahara Aldridge Benefit Concert (concert details are on my blogsite) In fact, I have dedicated my current blog post issue to this event.

As a long-time Rick Springfield fan, I am asking for those of you who can do so, to step forward now and support Mr. Springfield's efforts to help Sahara Aldridge. Now is the hour as this is going to be an awesome concert event.

The tour bus is FREE and will be rolling into Cape Girardeau, Missouri at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7th, 2006.

If you know of anyone in this area, remember to let them know that Cincinnati is the origination point for the trip.

All are invited from the following "major cities" and surrounding points in the USA:

ILLINOIS AND INDIANA: via Interstate 74 WEST then to Interstate 75 SOUTH into downtown Cincinnati; from KENTUCKY via Interstate 71 or 75 NORTH to Cincinnati; MICHIGAN AND ALL UPPER OHIO CITIES via Interstate 75 or 71 SOUTH directly into downtown Cincinnati.

It is a nice drive. Bring along your Rick Springfield CD's to play during the road trip, and remember: The cause is powerful. Sahara Aldridge is 12. She has brainstem Cancer, and she's Going to kick it's ass. But to do so, she needs our support at this time.

To recap: Here are the inbound cities and surrounding points that an invitation is being extended to:
_____

DETROIT, MICHIGAN
CLEVELAND, OHIO
COLUMBUS, OHIO
TOLEDO, OHIO
DAYTON, OHIO
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY
LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY

If you need to touch base with the Tour Bus organizer, please send an e-mail to:

michaelmanninginfo@GMail.com

I trust that all of you will pass along this information to everyone you know to help make this event a success; particularly, as this is the season for caring and sharing.

All the best,
Enid~

Hi Meow ~ A belated Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. I hope you both had a happy day. Glad the Yearbook is finished. I bet Chicky is so proud that you have done that for her school. Nice photos of the taby cat. Weather is settling down to being hot, 39 expected here on Saturday. The fires are a big worry for the towns near them. I hope they can get them out without loss of life, stock ad property. I love your tree and the little reindeer is so cute.Take care
Love, Merle.

Cheers!

Makes sense having a fake tree then! It looks lovely.

What a beautifully decorated tree. I miss not being able to put a tree up early like we do in Australia. While we have lights up to combat the 20 hours of darkness we have at this time of year, the actual tree does not go up until Christmas Eve!! I swear it nearly kills me every year.

Hope you get to enjoy some of the Christmas spirit now that your big project is finished. That sort of thing can take so many more hours than you can believe possible.

Hi, we wanted to join to Cats on Tuesday. But the letter "ñ", in the word "Cucarañas" doesnt appear.

Thats because that letter is used only in spanish.

We are six cats from Perú, and would love to visit our page. WE are olso getting ready for Christmas!!!

Greetings!
Cucarañas.

You know, it is SO sweet of you to share your home and your heart with us. It means more than you probably know. I won't be putting up Christmas decorations this year (my life is a whirlwind) but I do so enjoy them.

I used to crossstitch like mad. It looks like the stockings are stitched? They're beautiful!

Diane ... thank you. I sure am glad it's finished, too !! I hope to come out and play again more, but at the moment, I'm busy shopping, and catching up on other stuff. Soon, soon !!

Gattina ... thank you. I'm not sure whether my parents are homesick ... the main family is over here, but I know they are looking forward to their trip to Germany next year !!

Enid ... thank you. Obviously I won't be on the bust trip for Sahara ... bit too far away. Hopefully it goes wonderfully, and raises stacks of cash for her.

Devil Mood ... thank you.

Merle ... thank you. Hope you have good air-conditioning, the forecast for the weekend is looking wicked !! I think we are in for a long, hot, dry summer. Not too sure how happy I am about that !!

Jeanette ... thank you. Yep, Saturday's looking really hot. Poor Chicky has to play here netball grand final in that !!

Viamarie ... thank you.

Topchamp ... thank you.

Marie ... thank you. Wow, 20 hours of darkness ... how do you cope. Don't think I'd like that very much ... I love sunshine !!

Silverneurotic ... thank you. We head off for a 2 hour drive to Lake Eildon, where we have a sort of holiday home. Nothing fancy, but great fun !!

Jean Luc ... thank you.

Cucaranas ... thank you. Please come back to visit often.

LZ Blogger ... thank you.

Susie ... thank you.

Connie ... thank you. I'm heading out today to do the bulk of my shopping (I hope).

Gwen ... thank you. Everyone's busy, I haven't been doing much visiting, either. It's cool.

Saur ... thank you. I like to cross-stitch, too. But, the stockings were simply fabric panels, which I sewed together, and added a rope !! They look nice, though.

Take care everyone.

Hi Meow. Congratulations on finishing the year book. Chicky's classmates will love it, I'm sure.

Your decorations are much better than mine (I haven't got them up yet!).

I haven't done Gattina's Cats on Tuesday yet, but I'll try and get one done over the weekend and hopefully remember to post it on Tuesday!

Have a nice weekend...
