Getting There ...

Well, folks, as my last post mentioned ... I have changed over to the New Blogger (no longer known as Beta, as it has apparently no bugs, and is no longer in testing mode ... we'll see !!!).

It seemed to go really easy, until I discovered that it had dropped off all my blinkies and pretty stuff from my sidebar ... it was there in the html, but didn't want to show on the blog !! So, I did what it suggested, and loaded a new template (the same one, but redone!!). Well, was I horrified when it had dropped off all my pretties, and my header ... waaaaaaahhhhhh !!

Luckily I had saved a copy of the html from my original blog, as I was able to use this to copy and paste all the code back into my template, using the nifty control panel the New Blogger has for this purpose. It looks slightly different in places, but I like it !! The only problem I have at the moment, is figuring out how to put my MEOW flashing and walking footprints back on the header ... I will need to work on this one !! I was sitting here fiddling with the darn thing until about 1.30am last night (or should I say, this morning), getting it to where it is now (oh, I added my blogroll back in today ... for some reason it didn't want to play last night !!!). I've gotta ask .... is anyone else having problems with their Blogroll, in that it doesn't show any updates ??? Mine has been like this for a few days now ... very frustrating !!!

Anyway, today was Chicky's last day of primary school. It was a very emotional day for all concerned. After their final assembly, I would have to say about 90% of the kids were crying ... both boys and girls (oh yeah, and a few of us mums, too !!). They were all hugging and crying, saying their farewells. Many of them will be catching up again soon, although many of them are going to different schools. I reckon if they are real friends, they will all make an effort to get together when they can.

I did my final Christmas shopping today. Just gotta wrap a few gifts, and I'm done. Did my grocery shopping. I want a hair cut and colour ... hmmm, when have I got time ? Tomorrow (Friday) we are going roller skating with some friends, catching up before Christmas. Saturday morning we have Hubby's sister, her hubby and kids coming over, to exchange gifts, and to just hang out. Then Saturday avo, we are off visiting other friends. Sunday is Christmas Eve ... we will probably spend the day doing all the things on our list we haven't finished, before heading over to my parent's place for our Christmas (we do Christmas on Christmas Eve ... very German, don't you think !!!). Then Monday morning, hopefully Santa will have visited with some pressies for Chicky. After lunch we will head off for 2 weeks of relaxation at Bonnie Doon. Hopefully it won't be too smokey (being so close to the fires, it is bound to be ... bugger !!).

Oh well, that's enough for me for now. I'm gonna try and fix my blog header ... it is annoying me !!! Wish me luck !!

Take care, all. I will post again soon.

Gidday Meow,
I've been a little slow on blogging of late.
I joined the new Blogger some time ago altho' the New Blogger Guru, Peter from Holtieshouse was here on a visit and he did most of the change over which saved me a lot of hassles.
Just a reminder that you may remember my post way back on 26th July where I showed all my previous Xmas photos and you commented wanting to see this years.
Waal, the time is almost near as I will be posting this photo on Friday.
May you and your family have a enjoyable Christmas and a safe and health New Year.
Roll on 2007 for the next instalment of blogging posts.

G'day Wazza, it's a busy time of year ... no need to explain.
I think I am happy with my blog now, although disappointed at not being able to put my meow and footprints back on the header ... oh well, I now have my gorgeous kitty instead !!
Looking forward to seeing your pics ... will make sure I visit Friday.
Take care, Meow

Well on the blogger issue you do seem to have learned a lot!

Bonnie Doon again? I am so envious! Sounds like a real neat way to spend the Christmas Holidays! We head out Christmas Day to pick up the youngest Step daughter and head for Upper State New York! I hate the drive but it is worth it for the week visit! The Oldest Step daughter, her hubby and the granddaughter will follow up the next day! So we are hoping for one good day of snow so the youngest can see what it is like!

I am glad your week is going so good, I know what you mean about the hair cut and time! I squeezed it in last week! And I do mean squeezed!

This week I am just practicing my knitting before I tackle my first pair of socks!

I'm very afraid to switch to blogger. Well first of all it won't let me, something about being too big a blog--which I don't think it is.

Hi Meow...I did my grocery shopping yesterday, as well. Good friends of mine who are German (now Aussies) always celebrate on Christmas Eve, too, as is the tradition. They're down in South Australia until early January, having gone down to visit their son and friends. I'll miss them over Christmas/New Year but they've rung twice already and sent me a postcard...with the words "leave the booze alone until we return!" I've already failed their demand as I went to a Christmas party last night! ;)

LittleJen ... thank you. I think it's part of being a mum, that we need to cry at things our kids do !!

Connie ... thank you. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to put my moving thingies back in the header, so I resorted to a picture ... I like it !! I may, in time, figure it out ... who knows !!

Brian ... thank you. Yep, too much stuff ... that is my world, you should see my house !!!

Debbie ... thank you, I am getting there. Still stuff to learn, but it will take time !! Bonnie Doon will be fun. Hope your knitting goes well.

Sonia ... thank you so much. All the best to you and yours, too.

Loraloo ... thank you. The mail system surprises me sometimes. During the year, when it is not as busy, things take forever, but at Christmas, when they are flat out, things get there on time. Go figure !!

Silverneurotic ... thank you.

Thomas ... haha !!

Angel ... it wouldn't let me change for a while, either, then all of a sudden it said it could. Try again, it might surprise you !!

Lee ... *giggle* ... nothing wrong with a drink (or two or three!!) at Christmas. Have fun !!

Take care, all, and thanks for your wonderful comments. I will do a special Christmas post soon.

Bye for now, Meow

Daybyday ... thank you. I was gonna wait, too, but couldn't help myself !!! Seems ok now, will try to put stuff back on my header eventually, but I like it this way for now.
Take care, and Merry Christmas ... Meow

NOOOOO! WE NEED YOUR PRETTY SIDE STUFF! ...Glad you got 'em back.

See, me I'm not adventurous. What you see on my Blog now is what you've got and it'll stay like that until the damn thing breaks.

...Can Blogs break??

Anyway, you seem to be pretty organised! Well done! Us, we've just started to think about the possibility of actually getting some food in because, oh yeah, Christmas day is in THREE DAYS!

Oops.

Merry Christmas Meow. Have a great time.

Much love,

:-)

Thanks for the Blogger review, Meow. I think I’ll wait until forced to change.

I am going to hold off on making the switch and when I have to do so I may just jump ship to a WordPress site.

I sent you a Christmas card but it didn't go out until a couple of days ago so will be late. It sounds like you will be away for a couple of weeks so it should be waiting when you get home. Thanks for your card.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!
