I Need Your Help Please ....

I hope everyone has been having a good week. Mine has been great ... very busy, but very good !! I have a few things planned for the weekend, but I hope to have some time-out and watch a bit of TV or read a bit.

I am in the process of putting together a bunch of question sheets to be used next weekend at a Trivia Night, which I help organise. It is with this that I am requesting your assistance, please.

I usually use questions from the Trivial Pursuit game, get lots of questions from Trivia sites on the internet, and out of books. This works fine ... but, I want to get some extra special questions !!

This is where you come in, if you choose to take up the challenge and help me ...

Do you have any obscure type trivia questions (and their answers, too, of course !!) that you can share with me (remembering that we are down here in Australia !!), so that I can make the Trivia Night more interesting ?? If so, please leave them in my comments, or email them to me if you so choose to do. I greatly appreciate your help, and know that you can come up with some doozies !!

Thanking you in anticipation. I will let you know how it goes.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday, and have wonderful plans for the weekend ahead.

Take care, my wonderful blog-friends,

MEOW :-)

I wish I can help you but I'm not a trivia person. Would u believe I have never played Trivial Pursuit? LOL

Have a great weekend~

I am like heidi in that I've never played the game but I may be able to come up with something. I'll work on it during the last leg of my trip home today and post something when I get there, if I come up with something.

I am looking forward to seeing Huggy again & will give her a rub or something for all of those who have asked me to.

I'm no good at proper trivia questions, but I know lots of stupid/funny/cool ones, like;

"Why is nylon so called?"

Answer: it was invented by two guys; one from London and one from New York...

Or how about "What is Barbie's (As in Barbie & Ken) full name?"

Answer: Barbara Millicent Howard.

Or "It is impossible to lick your own elbow, true or false?"

Answer: True.

Or "If a man in a deserted clearing speaks and there is not a woman in sight for miles, is he still wrong?"

Answer: most probably, YES.

Any good?

Ooh, ooh, another possible one is:

"What doesa cow drink."

Answer: water.

(Lots of people get that last one wrong. "Milk" usually slips out before the brain is in gear.)

Or "Apart from get shot in the eye by an arrow, what else did King Harold do in 1066?"

Answer: Die.

I've got loads more, but most of them are just as idiotic as the ones mentioned above, which is probably of no use to you whatsoever, so, I'll, you know, go sit in the corner and be quiet now...

:-)

Hi there, we have just done our trivia night - I organized the "Famous faces" which was a lot of fun. I downloaded images from the web, and had a range of people from filmstars to politicians, cartoon characters etc. Hope it goes well!

Heidi ... thanks anyway. I am amazed you have never played the game ... I thought everyone had !!

Dick ... thank you. I bet Huggy will be really happy to see you, I imagine she will be all over you and won't leave you alone !!

Alice ... you are so funny !! There are a few really good ones there, that I will use ... thank you.

Megz Mum ... thank you. I usually do this each Easter, for the caravan park we stay in, but I wanted something different. There are some great ideas here.

Neo ... thanks for the link, I'll go and have a look. Love the ending to your story ... too cool. I couldn't wait for the next installment (even though I didn't always leave comments ... sorry :(

Thank you everyone, I will use these ideas to come up with some amazing questions.
Have a great weekend.

Thank you Connie ... I think I will use that one, too. I know there are many people out there who love I Love Lucy ... me being one of them, so hopefully it will be an interesting question.

Q. What do you call the hair at the very tip of a dog's tail?

A. dog hair!

(My grandfather used to tell this joke over and over and every time thought it was absolutely hilarious! It was funny because he thought it was so funny).

I suppose you could ask them what mileage did I get with my Miata drive from Tucson, Arizona to Mount Vernon, Washington. Answer 27.79 miles per gallon. Actually that was only to Vancouver, Washington as I haven't filled the tank yet in Mt. Vernon.

Since you have a vacation travel trailer you would probably enjoy the 1953 movie, "The Long, Long Trailer" with Luci & Desi. As an RVer I felt I needed to own it so bought a copy from Amazon.com. A good video rental place would probably have it, too.

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Jenn ... that's a good one, I'll be sure to use that ... nothing wrong with putting in a "trick" question !! Thank you.

Dick ... The Long Long Trailer is a fantastic movie ... I have seen it too many times to count. It is so funny. I really have to laugh at Lucy collecting rocks ... my daughter does that !!! I actually have a copy on Video, although now we no longer have a video player, I will have to get it on DVD. Thanks for reminding me.

Take care, friends. Have a great weekend, Meow

In Old roman times , while disecting bodies (medical Learning)they found that A main vein from heart ran to that finger, not on the other fingers or other the other hand, so it was stated : closer to the HEART wear the ring (sign)there in marriage/love !

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Kylee ... thank you ... it seems not as many people as I thought were trivia buffs.
I will look up the islands you wrote about ... sounds interesting.
Hope your weekend is going well.

I looooooove trivia... hope these are helpful:

What is your uvula?
It's the little flap of skin that hangs down the back of your throat, that you can see when you say "Ahhhhh".

What do you call fossilized dinosaur poo?
Caprolites.

An adult Octopus can squeeze through a hole the size of a 10-cent coin.

Hurray for trivia!

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Kimber ... hi, and thank you so much ... that first question could be almost thought about as "rude" (if you have an immature mind (!), and if you don't know the answer, that is !!). I'll for sure use that one !! Oh, dinosaur poo - caprolites ... that is brilliant !!
Thank you for coming to visit, and thanks for your help. Take care, Meow
