Ha, Ha, Hahahahaha ....

I found this in my newspaper this morning ... thought I might share it with you.

Everyone knows laughter is the best medicine, but research shows that even expecting something funny is good for us.
Experiments have shown that laughing boosts our immune system.
Scientists have now found that just the expectation of watching a comedy raises levels of feel-good endorphins and doubles levels of a hormone which helps people to fight off infections.

Isn't that interesting ... laughter, or even the anticipation of laughter, is really good for you !!

I also found these really great quotes ...

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.
- e.e. cummings -

Laughter is an instant vacation.
- Milton Berle -

So, my request of you all today is to make sure you try and have a happy day, try to laugh as much as you can ... even if you don't really feel like it, it may still help make you feel better ... and smile at at least one person ... "A smile can be contagious, you can catch it like the flu ... if you smile at someone else, they may smile back at you, too !!"

Have a great day, keep smiling.

Great post! I think that is so right. Laughing is one of my favorite things to do. Life is just way to short to live it without joy!

I wish I could remember the name of the book (about 20 years ago) about a man who laughed himself into good health.

If I couldn't laugh, especially at myself, I'd go nuts.

That's why having a pet is so healthy. I would not smile and laugh nearly so much without my cutie dog making me smile all day.

Cinthia ... ha ha ha ha ... you are most welcome.

Momyblogr ... thank you. There is nothing better than a good belly-laugh. In fact, just this morning, Chicky and I were watching the cat doing something really stupid, and I actually laughed so hard I cried ... and Chicky couldn't breathe, and almost wet her pants !!!

Granny ... I think I know the one you mean ... it was fabulous.

Laugh loud, laugh lots, have fun everyone. Take care, Meow

Definitely true. When we laugh, there is a shift of our present mood to one that is happy. Did you ever notice that when you're happy, everyone around you seems happy?

This reminds me to make it a habit to put on a pleasant face everyday.

Thanks for sharing this lovely post.

okay, here's what made me laugh today on the picnic. There was a stray dog and looked hungry. I gave him some of my -vegetarian- pizza which he smelled and then ignored. Then, he picked up a pine cone in his mouth and brought to me as a thank-you present.

DaybyDay ... I know what you mean, it makes you want to wrinkle up your nose !! Keep checking the post, it shouldn't be too far away !!

Viamarie ... I agree, when you are happy, everyone else seems to be (well, mostly).

Diane ... thank you ....it is Thursday morning in Oz ... around 7.30am. Better go sort Chicky out for school !!

Angel ... yay, another believer in laughter !!

Chloe ... that is so cute. Dogs are funny things ... he ignores the pizza, but thanks you anyway !! That is sweet. Hope the picnic was fun.

Laughing is the best medicine! That's pretty cool, even the anticipation of laughter helps. I like that. I'm going to have to change my perspective on some things, like meetings... if I realize how funny and absurd they are beforehand, think of the benefits!

The way that yellow smiley face is showing its teeth reminds me of the way my boss's black lab used to smile and show her teeth.

I'm smiling REALLY big right now!

Laughing feels so good. It does lift one's spirits even when times are tough.

I wish you lots of laughter!!

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Loraloo ... yeah, think how amusing those meetings would be if you picture (in your head, of course) all the meeting participants (except you, of course) in the nude ... I'm not being rude, that is what some people recommend you do when talking to a large crowd of people ... haven't quite figured out why, yet !!!

Jenn ... I guess it does look kinda like a dog smiling, in a weird sort of way !!

Jamie ... thank you ... I am smiling too ... I smile everytime I jump on blogland, just thinking about all the wonderful people I will be catching up with.

Take care, everyone, keep smiling ... Meow

True Blue Guy ... I so agree. I really do get more done when I am happy, than when I am moping around ... all I want to do then is a big-fat-nothing !!
Take care, Meow
