See Previous Post ....

Regarding my previous post ...I think I confused everyone into thinking that my cactus was beautiful, just because the flower was exquisite !! To prove my point, here is a photo of the whole plant ... weeds in pot and all !!! The two dead flowers are still dangling there. Still think it's beautiful ?!?!? I only keep it because of the beautiful flowers, which only happen once a year. As you can see by the condition of the pot ... gardening is not my favorite thing !! Most of my plants thrive on neglect. I grow brilliant weeds, though ... anyone want me to share some with them ?!?!

Have a great day,

MEOW

Lovely plant or not it sure produced a beautiful flower. I bet it was proud of itself. We so would have thought you had a green thumb if you hadn't showed us the plant. Silly.

Take care,
Connie

Well the flowers are beautiful! And why is it weeds grows so well?! You're green fingers are greener than mine - I don't own a single houseplant, though luckily the garden doesn't seem to need me, to survive!

Loved your BBQ summary ;o)

And thanks for visiting me :o)

that's a cactus?
suggestion for in home plants for brown thumbed people.

Mother in laws tongue and devils breath. Both will do fine as long as you don't over water.

:)

The fact it's green and living proves it's not one of MY plants. I envy green thumbs. Heck, I envy brown ones.

Susie, you are naughty .... but I like you !!!

Angel, thank you.

Connie, I reckon it was pretty proud of itself. Now if it would only learn to keep the flower longer than one day ....

Jona, I used to have heaps of house plants, but over the years I managed to kill them all off. I wonder if watering them would have helped !!!!!

DaybyDay, I think it's in the zygocactus family, or something. I've done pretty well with my mother-in-law's tongue ... had it for about 20 years now. It is the only one I haven't killed ... obviously it likes the fact that I never remember to water it !!!

Thanks everyone, have a great day, Meow

i'm a weed grower too. nothing survives!
but i love your flower. do you remember the Andersen tale about the one rose that bloomed every 4 years?

Clare said...

The flower is awesome and shame the leaves don't look so happy. Maybe they'd be happier in a different place perhaps.

Meow said...

Chloe, I don't know if I remember that tale. Have to dig out my old books and have a look !!

Clare, that seems to be the best place ... it gets not too much sun, it receives the rain, and seems happy enough. I tried it in other places, and the leaves just burn and it looks worse !!!

Have a great day, Meow

well, the one beautiful bloom makes up for the rest of it!!! So, who cares what the whole package looks like. Just as long as it gives you a flower that pretty, it's not all a flop!

It's a pity it flowers only once a year otherwise I wouldn't mind the plant to be ugly. What is important is the flower. So sad to know.

Jay Are ... yeah, never judge a book by the cover, I gues !!

Fridays Child ... once a year is hard to wait for, but luckily it is in inconspicuous place ... although not too inconspicuous that I don't see the flower !!

Have a great weekend, Meow
