Today Is Tuesday (Bet You Didn't Know That !!)

Just a quickie from me today, as I have some typing and book editing I need to do (as well as doing some blog visiting !!). You can see by the previous couple of posts, that I had a lovely weekend ... I hope you did too.

We have been having some very odd weather these past 2 days ... it rains overnight, looks dark and yucky in the morning, sun comes out and clouds go away and it looks amazing for a few hours, then it turns dark and miserable looking again !! As I type this (10.30ish, Tuesday morning), it has already become yucky again. I just wish if it was going to rain, it would really RAIN ... you know, the Noah's Ark type rain ... we so do need it. Oh well, I guess every little bit helps !!

I don't have much planned for this week, other than catching up on some typing and editing, and doing some computer housekeeping (spyware checking, backup, registry cleaning, and stuff like that). I guess I had better do some housework and washing, too ... *sigh* ... unfortunately it doesn't do itself. We are off to Bonnie Doon, to our van, this weekend (originally we were going to go last weekend, but had a change of plans). Hopefully the weather is great, and we can go for nice walks.

I am going to make a roast chook, roast spuds, roast pumpkin, roast carrots, peas and corn, and gravy for dinner tonight. Yummy !! What's on your menu for dinner tonight ??

Have a great week, everyone.

Take care,

MEOW

Greeneyes ... ooops, my Aussie slang at work again !! Roast Chook is roast chicken ... I think roasting is what you guys might call baking ... anyway, it's done in the oven !! Roast pumpkin is pumpkin cut into pieces, minus it's skin, and roasted (baked) in the oven.
Oooh, I like your new avatar ... very snazzy !!
Don't worry, I certainly won't over work myself !!!
Take care, hugs to you, Meow

Momyblogr ... thanks, you too !!

Michelle ... *giggle* ... you are too funny !! I love Chinese ... what dish are you making ??

Greeneyes ... I don't really know if pumpkin is like squash ... I know pumpkins are hollowed out and candles put inside for halloween in the US !! Hmmm, maybe it is squash, not sure ... I'll look into it !!

Take care, my friends ... Meow

Let's see it is already morning for you and I am heading off to bed. Too soon to think of dinner but hubby does have a pork roast thawing! I will probably pop it in the crock pot!

Sounds like the whole world needs rain. Lots of different people are suffering dry spells.

My day tomorrow is laundry day! I am also working on my headboard. Other than that not much else. Hope your has been good and you have a great evening!

Thanks for reminding me. I need to defrost some chicken. I'll probably make it into chicken teriyaki, my specialty.

What is your van at Bonney Doone - is it a shortened way of saying caravan?

The Seattle area is experiencing our second dryest summer in many years. August has had only .07 inches of precipitation, second only to 1967 when there was only .03 for the month, and more isn't expected before Sep. It is nice for making the days comfortable and the grass doesn't grow very fast so it doesn't have to be mowed as often. But there are some pretty bad wild fires in the NW this year & the lack of rain doesn't help.

I'm glad you explained what chook is..I wondered

Unfortunately, housework always seems to cut into our computer time, doesn't it!! hehe Sounds like you've been busy...I was also wonderfing what chook was...now I know:-) Tonight I barbecued some hamburgers for dinner...they were delish!!

Menu for tonight, pasta with canned chopped tomatos (no additives except onion. Tesco's are really quite good at not adding lots of crap to their canned goods) with vegetables and mixed herbs and spices.

I like my food really flavoured. Comes from years of processed food that was really bad for me but tasted spectacular. Proper food takes some getting used to, but thanks to all the things I can add to it out there (from garlic to cumin to nutmeg to mixed spice to basil...) the transition I'm going to slowly be making from ready meals to real meals won't be as hard.

Anyhow, that's what I'm having.

I am having tinned ravioli for lunch today, but it's only until I've made some batch stuff to take with me and reheat.

I've even brought a seal container to transport the stuff easily.

Bet you're glad you asked, right?

I replied to your comment on One Girl & Her Cats, but I'll say it again here; thanks for your encouragement. I love writing. It's nice to know there are people who think I'm actually any good at it.

Love the pictures, especially the ones of Bambi, but the picture of the sunlit tree tops and the words below really touched something inside me:
"... makes me realise just how small we really are in the world !"

Exactly. As top of the food chain we tend to forget we're not top of everything. We are second to nature itself and always will be.

*hugs* and forgive any typos.

Hi Meow, just surfaced from an almost full day messing around on the computer, have switched everything over to Beta Blogger now, it all works very smoothly even my new "song of the week"

You dinner sounds very, very yummy!

I wish that we would get some rain here, everything is so dry that its startng to die.

Fruitfulspirit ... thank you. Mmmm, and roast pork in the crockpot sounds yummy. I did a lot of laundry yesterday, too ... it's now Wednesday morning !!

Jenn ... I've never made Chicken Teriyaki ... bet it's nice.

Dick ... our "van" is our caravan / annex set-up, with huge wooden decking ... more of a holiday home than caravan, these days. Bonnie Doon is a township at the northern end of Lake Eildon, in North/Central Victoria, where we have our van in a caravan park.

Autumn ... yep, sorry ... forget we Aussies have some strange words for things !!

Pea ... *giggle* ... yep, housework gets in the way of lots of things !! BBQ hamburgers are lovely. Mmmmm.

Alice ... nothing wrong with using pre-prepared stuff ... I often do, but as part of what I prepare myself. The quality of pre-packaged (canned & frozen) foods is excellent these days, and so much simpler than preparing fresh vegies. Hugs to you.

Peter ... I'm looking into it, and I must say, I am impressed. Hopefully it will be more reliable than old Blogger. Keep me posted !!

3catsmeow4me ... I know what you mean. Our winter has been soooo dry.

Take care, Meow

Wow, I wish I was with someone that could cook! No, I take that back. I'm glad I'm not. I'd get WAYYYY too fat.

I'm a great cook but I'm not going to cook for myself; no way!

Anyhow, gotta go. Getting ready for a hot date tonite. *hugs*

BTW, the weather here's hot and muggy, between 95-100 degrees daily with scattered showers. Typical Florida summer.

Well I did not get far today. Have been feeling a bit under the weather. Doing all I can to keep from having a full blown summer cold! So far it has settled in my throat. So I just was lazy watched a few movies, and crocheted all day!

i have just processed a whole pile of blueberries today, which i picked up from one of the farms after dropping my daughter off in White Rock. Yum, nice big plump ones, some i will eat fresh, the other i have frozen for the winter.

i'm just going to have some left over potato salad that i made yesterday from lovely baby potatoes that i picked up in Yarrow after my "river run" on Saturday. Veggies and gas are cheaper that end of the GVRD, so i stocked up and filled my tank before the long drive home.

.... your dins sounds so yummy, but is was very warm last night and i could not get to sleep, and i don't want a repeat of that tonight, so i am not putting the oven on.

I'm sure it will turn up sometime soon !! Thanks for everything, glad you had some success in searching, sorry our Customs are such buggers. The anticipation will make the arrival of the parcel all the more special, knowing what has been done to find it !!! Hugs to you my dear friend.

We had browned ground beed with tomatoes and corn for dinner. It was yummy!

We have had such hot weather and not much rain. It is a drought. But then TODAY it really rained and rained. We certainly needed it, although since I was out and about all day in it, I didn't like getting wet all day.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and don't work too hard.

What in the heck is a roast chook? Whatever it was, I hope it was tastey.
