It's Friday Again ...
Hello Friends ...
It has been a looooong week in Meow's household, without Chicky there to amuse me and keep me out of mischief. I will be heading off to school in an hour, as the bus is due back about 3 - 3.30pm, and the Grade 6ers will be back from their week long camp. I can't wait to see her again. It feels like ages, longer than a week (well, really only 5 days) since I saw her last. I hope she had an amazing time, and has heaps of stories to tell us, and lots of photos to share.
I received a postcard today, from Jean-Luc Picard. It shows The International Convention Centre in Birmngham, England. It looks like a spectacular place. Thank you Jean-Luc for the wonderful postcard.
I also received a wonderful package from DaybyDay. She called it a S'Mores Kit, stating everyone needs to experience them once in a lifetime. It contains Graham Crackers, Marshmallows and Hershey Bars. Apparently I need to make a sort of sandwich with the crackers, marshmallow and chocolate, all melted together .... mmmmm, sounds delicious. I will try it out later with Chicky, when she comes home. I don't have a campfire at the moment, but the recipe on the marshmallow packet suggests using the microwave. That I do have !!! Thank you so much, DaybyDay, for the fun package ... it is very much appreciated. It seems DaybyDay noticed a comment I made somewhere (maybe on her blog, or mine ... I can't remember) that I didn't know what Graham Crackers were. I can see myself putting on a couple of pounds, just trying this interesting concoction ... oh well, it's all in the name of new experiences, isn't it !!
Well, it is Friday afternoon. The weekend is almost here, again. It is Mother's Day here on Sunday, and we are going over to my parent's place for a BBQ. Should be a wonderful day. I love Mother's Day ... where would we all be withough our Mum's ???
Anyway, friends, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and all you Mums, have a wonderful Mother's Day.

Have a wonderful reunion with Chicky; I’m sure she has a lot to share about camp.
The picture of the cat looking in the mirror is great! I think that Alex sees a similar reflection when he views his feline self.
If you like chocolate you will LOVE some-mores. You can probably kind of guess by the name, because it is real hard to not eat some more of them once you start. The big discussion is whether or not the marshmellows should be burned or just browned.
I am sure Chicky had a great time. It is interesting that our kids went to a week long camp in the sixth grade while in the Auburn School District here, too. They went in the spring, not long before the end of the school year. And they had fun.
Do enjoy your weekend as I hope all Mothers will. I will be in Spokane with my brother & his family for the holiday. It will be hard as it's another of those firsts for me without Annie.
Nick ... thank you. She is home, and very tired ... exhausted, really. She looks a wreck, but has had a fabulous time. I'm sure when she gets some long overdue sleep, she will be more forthcoming with stories ... at the moment, I think she just needs to rest.
Dick ... mmmmmm the S'Mores are delicious. I made them in the microwave, because I don't have a fireplace, and the camp-fire is not happening right now !! They must taste even better when they are browned over a fire.
Chicky had a wonderful time ... she is still a bit quiet, but is starting to talk more. The poor kids were all really subdued when they got out of the bus ... exhausted !!
I hope your weekend goes well, Dick. I know Annie is always in your thoughts, and time such as this can be difficult.

Birmingham IS a gorgeous place in many ways. So gorgeous in places that at times it can cancel out the ugliness one can see anywhere in this day and age.
England is like that.
I especially like it in Birmingham by the canals. If I can I'll take some pictures with Mike's digital camera and email them over to you.
Glad she'll be back soon. Bet she had a blast, but it's always nice to return to your loving home.

Alice ... I often see very contradictory pictures of various places in England ... both the beauty and the not-so-nice. I guess we have areas like that in all countries ... I know we have areas like that here, too.

Tab ... The smores are absolutely divine !!! I have only tried them with the marshmallows microwaved (as it says on the packet !!), but I imagine they taste even better with the marshmallows browned over the fire ... mmmmmm, got my taste buds going !!

I remember going to 6th grade camp..the first time being away from my parents to somewhere other than families...I hope she had a grand time and had wonderful stories and experiences to remember forever!!
