Where Has The Week Gone ???

Hello again !!

I've been a bit slack with my blogging this week, I'm sorry to say. It has been an interesting week, fairly busy, but lazy also (late nights, sleep-ins in the mornings) !!

I think it was Tuesday, last time I posted ... it is now Friday afternoon, and almost the weekend (not that it will really be any different for me and Chicky, as it is school holidays, although it does mean that Hubby will be home ... that will be great.)

On Wednesday night I had my parents over for dinner ... I made a yummy huge pot of potato, bacon and leek soup ... mmmmm, nothing nicer on a cold day than a steaming hot bowl of soup. We had a lovely evening, catching up, and watching TV with mum and dad.

Thursday I did the groceries (how boring), then Chicky's 2 friends came over for a sleep over and play. They were at it, chatting, laughing, running around, and generally having fun, until around midnight, when I thought it was time for them to go night-nights, as they had a big day ahead of them.

I got up early Friday morning (5am) to watch the Aussie V Croatia soccer match ... it was a great match, with the desired result ... the Aussies have made it into the second round. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oy, Oy, Oy !!

After brecky, the girls and I went to Knox City for what they called a "shopping spree". They wanted to shop till they dropped !! I let them run around alone (together) for a couple of hours, whilst I did some window shopping also. They basically went to the same shops as I did, so I was really only a couple of steps behind (sort of). We then had hot-dogs for lunch, then headed off to the roller-skating rink for a few hours. I decided not to skate (I felt lazy, and wanted to be able to move tomorrow !!), so sat and read, whilst they expended some more energy. I think they will sleep well tonight.

Tonight should be a quiet one ... the girls go home shortly ... and we have no plans for he weekend. Might do a bit of a day-drive on Sunday, if the weather allows it, though.

Hopefully I will get around to visit all your blogs over the next day or so. Thanks for perservering with mine. If any of you haven't yet placed your mark on my Guest Map (via my sidebar), and you would like to, please do.

Have a great weekend, friends.

Take care,

MEOW

Hi, Meow,
I've had a busy day cleaning and sorting, and an even bigger day of it planned for Friday. It's almost 2:30am Friday morning here, so I'd better head for bed for a few hours sleep before I start in again! Thankfully, my daughter Jessica is going to help me. We have 2 big closets and an outside utility room to tackle, and a LOT of stuff is going in the rubbish.

I'm with you, where did the rest of the week go?

I have a new hard drive to hook up sometime after I get done with my cleaning binge, but I'm not sure when I'll get to it. I'll be offline for a while, according to how much difficulty I run into. I'll post a notice on my blog before I go missing so everyone won't worry about me. :-)

Have a great weekend, Meow, and GO AUSSIES!! ;-)

Yes. Days passes so fast. It just seemed like it was Monday and now we're Friday. Like Christmas was just when and now it's 6 months near.
Have a nice weekend.

Chloe ... thank you ... Go Aussies !!

Fridays Child ... the year is going much too fast.

Peter ... I agree. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oy, Oy, Oy !!

Take care, friends ... Meow

Eek. Sleepovers. Another reason for me to dread the day I may suddenly find myself wanting kids...

...Only kidding. Glad they had sucha great time. Bet the outing was really fun. Did they fall over a lot skating? I can't skate at all; I can't stand the feeling of slipping, so putting on boots with wheels or standing on ice just doesn't appeal.

Another reason why I'm a wuss, but oh well. If we were all alike, how boring would it be?

Have a great weekend, Meow!

PS: Ooh, by the way, thanks to actually READING the little pop up and then putting the thing in list form I was able to find the one other pin from the UK and post next to it, I'm now on your map!

Yay!

*big happy smile*

Time really does seem to move faster every year. My brother has just one week left to work before retirement (well, a week & a day since it is now only 07:30 Friday here) and it wasn't long ago that he said it was still too far away to start marking X on each day on his calendar.

It is good that the kids still like to do things with the adults. They are not quite ready yet to be off on their own but sometimes they don't agree with that.

Do Aussie kids get a very long holiday break this time of year? Kids have a few months now here, but we're into summer.

It took me a minute when I started reading to remember its winter where you are. You said you made soup and I though ohhh hot no way. Then I remembered your cold, and soup would be yummy.
I love soups and stews too in the winter months. Sounds like the girls had a good time shopping. Your a good mom to give them just enough freedom to feel grown up, yet smart enough to stay close.
Enjoy your weekend

Megz Mum ... thanks.

Nicole ... I agree ... staying positive works wonders. Thank you.

Alice ... the sleep over was ok, and the rollerskating looked like fun. They didn't fall over too much. I wanted to play, too, but knew if I did (I can rollerskate, by the way) I wouldn't be able to move for the next couple days !! Yay for putting your mark on my map. Thanks.

Dick ... time flies quicker as we get older, I think. I agree with what you said about the kids ... they enjoy feeling grown up, but I knew I was still around (and so did they) ... safety is the factor.

Greeneyes ... thank you !! It will be nice to have hubby underfoot, although so far he hasn't moved from the couch and the TV ... he has a cold, you see ... poor love !! The soup was easy, and yummy, I'll post the recipe some time !! Thanks for asking, my parents are A-OK !! Happy in their retirement !! Wish you had've been shopping with me, too. I love being a giggly adult !! Would've been heaps of fun !! Waiting for the heat, hope it arrives soon !! Hugs to you !!

Tabs ... thank you.

Clare ... thank you.

Heidi ... thank you.

Viamarie ... thank you. Hope the performance goes well.

Jenn ... the kids get a 2 week term break, then back to the grindstone. We get out big holidays (6 weeks) over Christmas, in our Summer.

Autumn ... thank you. The kids like to feel grown up, but I am still hesitant to let go the apron strings, so I sort of hover ... giving them enough space, I hope !!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Take care, Meow

It's great that Australia went through! Congratulations! :)
Funnily enough, yesterday I felt like I was in the middle of Winter over here, it's been really cold and windy. I don't really mind but it's pretty strange! :P
Enjoy your weekend!

No need to apologize for not posting. With my current work schedule, I am beginning to feel like a stranger to my computer.
