Monday ...

Hello Friends,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend ... I know I did. I didn't do much, just pottered around, and I feel soooo relaxed. It's nice to have a weekend of nothing, don't you think ??

I found the lyrics to one of my favorite old songs. I wonder how many of you remember it ???

The Mamas And The Papas
Monday, Monday

Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Monday Monday, can't trust that day,
Monday Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be
Oh Monday Monday, how yould cou leave and not take me.
Every other day, every other day,
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
You can find me cryin' all of the time
Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Every other day, every other day,
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
You can find me cryin' all of the time
Monday Monday, ...

Well, despite the words, I am not always crying on Mondays !!! Today I am happy and smiling and having a lovely day.

It is a beautiful Winter's day here in Melbourne. The sun is shining, the sky is blue, there is an ever-so-slight breeze, I have the front and back doors open, letting in some fresh air. It is still cool, but not cold (if that makes sense !!). Chicky has gone shopping with some friends (and their parent), and I thought I might sit down and either do some scrapbooking, or finish painting the final coaster in my set of six kitty coasters. Not sure yet which I will do ... I may even just curl up with a book, or watch a movie ... who knows !! I need to stay relaxed, and not over-do it today, as I will be having a really late night tonight ... the Australia V Italy soccer match starts at 1am our time. Can't wait ... Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oy Oy Oy.

So, friends, that's me for today. I don't think I have said anything particularly mind-boggling, or really interesting for that matter, but I just wanted to say hello to you all. So .... HELLO.

Have a wonderful week.

Take care,

MEOW

The Mama's & Papa's were one of my favorite groups. I pretty much liked all their songs & think I have them all now on CDs.

We are having an earlier than normal bought of hot summer weather with temperatures around 90 for the first time in nearly two years. It makes me wonder what it will be like later in July & August when we get to where we usually have our hottest temps.

For an old retired guy like me, Monday is just another day. I have Sunday, then six Saturdays in a row.

Don't be too relaxed you'll fall asleep........"Go Aussies"!

Fridays Child ... the Mamas and Papas had many great songs.

Dick ... hope you are coping with the early heat OK. I wonder if it means the height of summer will be a real stinker (extra hot), or whether it will just be a long one !! I like the idea of Sunday, then 6 Saturdays ... I think I could do that !!

Michelle ... oooh, that won't happen (I hope !!). Yay, go Aussies.

Take care, friends ... cheer on the Aussies for us.

Meow

I absolutely love the Mamas and the Pappas. "Dream a Little Dream" is a firm favourite.

That song makes me think of my friend who told me that when she was about six, she and her sister did a strip tease to it, for her mother and her bridge club. She said she thought she was entertaining everyone, her mother's spanking told her otherwise.

Oh gosh Im old. I remember when that song came out.
I'm not really a Monday person, and if I had to pick it is probably my lest favorite day. It is a day I seldom get off from work and is one of the slowest days to be at work when you do retail. I suppose that is due to everyone shopping on the weekends. My house is always a wreck on Monday from my hubby being home on the weekend, and I am tired because we burned the candle at both ends and I either worked or went shopping or did something intead of staying home. Awwww oh well at lest it only comes once a week.

Of course I know that song. It plays over here quite often on the radio. It's a bit ironic though, mondays being good to you.
This monday wasn't definitely good for Australia, unfortunately. That penalty was a tragedy. The Italians are such cheaters sometimes...no offence to anyone ;)
I'm really sorry, Australia deserved to win!

Megz Mum ... Dream a Little Dream is a good one, too.

Angel ... that's cute, thanks for sharing !!

Tab ... thank you, you too !

Autumn ... I know what you mean, everyone being home creates lots of messes !! Once a week, yay !!

Devil Mood ... thank you, I agree. The Aussies played like champs, only to be ripped off in the final seconds. Bugger !!

Jenn ... hello, to you too !!

Take care, friends ... Meow

I loved The Mamas & Papas!

Glad you had a nice Monday. I did too...I painted my bathroom.

I wonder what happened to Feathers? Isn't it strange that it's been so long since her last post?
I hope she's OK.

Meow - Of course I know that song! It's been more like rainy monday here in Phillytown today. Hope your week goes well.

Peace & Hugs,

I keep forgetting it's winter there! I can't imagine it since it is quite hot and humid here.

Meow, I didn't really grow up in the Mama and Papa age, but I do know the song and I do enjoy it. Then again, I like Barry Manilow, so what does that tell you? :-)

I've always loved that song! Thanks for brining back some good memories.

Reverberate ... unfortunately the game had a baaaaad finish ... we were robbed !! Thank you.

Lainey ... thanks for visiting, it's lovely to meet you. Your bathroom looks wonderful ... I love reds. I, too, am worried about Feathers ... she hasn't posted since April ... hope she is OK.

Neo ... oooh, send us some rain, we need it. Enjoy the warmth, though.

Jamie Dawn ... it was the same with me when it was summer here, and winter with you guys. The world is a crazy place !!

Mike ... The Mamas and the Papas were waaaay before my time, too, but I still grew up listening to all that type of music thanks to my parents. Barry Manilow is OK !!

Bar ... you are most welcome.

I hope your Tuesdays are going well (or is it still Monday night ??).

Take care, Meow

I watched the game and cheered for Australia. That ref. should never have given the penalty. I feel so bad for Australia! :( I'm sorry, Meow...
I hope you are having an otherwise good week.

Cathy ... thank you, I sooo agree. I am having a good week otherwise ... will post about it shortly !

Susie ... pottering around is sort of just doing this and doing that. I am contented at the moment, no rushing, no pressure, no timetables ... bliss !!

Jean-luc ... the music from the sixties is just the best ... love it to bits. More fun than stuff now, I think (but that's only my opinion.)

Raggedy ... thank you for visiting, I love new visitors !!

Jon Cox ... why thank you !!

I hope you are all having a great week. Take care, everyone ... Meow
