Friday Night and All's Well ...
Just a quickie from me, to let you know I am still alive ....
I still have a small amount of typing to do ... but it's not due until Tuesday or Wednesday ... so I am going to play with my computer for awhile. I am very excited, as I bought myself an external hard drive today, with 200gig of storage space ... whoo hoo !! I am in the process of transferring photos to it, that I have on disc, so I can play with them, as well as cleaning out heaps of stuff from my little 40gig drive on my laptop, in the hope that it may run faster with less crap on it !!
I have attempted to stop by many of your blogs today ... apologies if I haven't dropped by yours ... I will get there. Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments re my photos on the last couple of posts.

Hi Meow, thanks for your comment on my blog. Glad things are going well for you. It's 96F here, hot and sticky, sunny.
Good luck getting your hard drive set up and running. I have a new (to me) one that a friend is giving me soon, and I have to try to get it set up, too, when it gets here. I don't look forward to the techie stuff, but I do look forward to a newer hard drive. This one's a 98SE, and I can't even view some of the videos, music and plugins on some sites, including yours. Wish me luck in getting it set up!!

Merle ... thank you ... I'm a little bit over the typing ... I think I liked it better when there was nothing particular I HAD to do on the computer, only what I wanted to do. Oh well !!! *Giggle* re the skating birds ... that would be a picture. I have seen Tweety skating, however !! You stay warm, also.

Diane ... I envy you the warmth !! The hard drive I got is not a complete new tower thingy, just a drive, so it was plug in to the USB and power and off I go ... as simple as that. Everything else is still running off the laptop as normal. Good luck in getting your new unit up and running ... it's not really that hard, you'll get there.

It is looking like Saturday night in the Pacific NW will be pretty nice weather wise so I think the Miata club trip to the drivein theater will be good. I do look forward to seeing the Cars movie but know nothing about the X-man one that is along with it. I'll have my own car so can leave if I don't like it, unless Cars is the second feature!

Hi Meow, hope you are getting all the files transferred and the laptop speed picks up for you, was it faster before you got so much on it ? Memory is one of the main slow down factors, and XP is a real memory glutton.

Peter ... I have all my pictures and music transferred, and now my laptop hard disk is only 1/2 full !!! I guess it was never speedy fast, it only has 256k of memory ... need to get that upgraded !!

Susie ... that is often a very safe way to think. The less one knows about computers the better, sometimes ... less chance of fiddling and stuffing something up (which I have been known to do !!!)

Reverberate ... it's cool, I haven't been around much this weekend either. I'm about to figure out what to post today, then I am going visiting to everyone's blogs ... hopefully I'll get through them all. Good luck with your file transfer ... it's kind of time consuming, but worthwhile, I feel.
