Lunch With Val ...
What a wonderful afternoon ...
It was lovely to finally meet Val, who I have been blogging with for quite some time (as many of you have, also.) . We had arranged to meet at noon, at the library near where we were to have lunch. We were worried about how we would find one another (and had jokingly discussed humming "What's New Pussycat" !!), but it turned out the library wasn't that big, and I found her, already browsing through the books (with some already selected) as I walked in. We took the opportunity to join the library (my old membership had lapsed) ... and of course, I also borrowed some books (being library and book fans is something we sure do have in common!!). We explored the cafe's until we found one that looked "just right" ... incidentally, it was the one the librarian had recommended to us. We had a lovely lunch, and chatted away, only stopping to eat (and then not always, on my part ... I think I talked with food in my mouth ... oops !! ... it's hard, when you've got so much to say !!!). It was interesting to discover what we had in common.
After lunch, we went and explored a couple of shops in the street ... one of them being a scrapbooking / paper / craft shop. Well, I managed to find a few (cat related, of course) things in there, to spend some money on. I could've gone mad, but restrained myself somewhat !!
We decided we just had to take a photo to mark the occasion, which was taken in a wind-swept carpark, with our cameras perched precariously on Val's mini tripod, on the bonnet of my car. You can see how windy it was by my "bad hair day" !!
It was fun to get to know someone personally, who I have spent some time reading about in her blog. Val is a lovely person .... I am really glad I got the chance to meet her.
I very much enjoyed the company ... thank you so much Val, for the great afternoon. I hope we can do it again sometime.
Take care,

Meow, isn't it great that we not only got to meet and get to know each other better, but that we've brought new readers to each other's blogs. Bloggerworld doing its magic again!
I look forward to meeting up with you again, maybe for a workshop with Barb next month. And there are those other places the librarian recommended for lunch too!

Hey Meow, you have some great visitors! I've just been checking them all out, lol! I still chuckle when I remember the first time I met some ladies I had been 'chatting' with on an MSN Group for cross stitchers. They caught a train to Eltham and I met them at the station, and brought them back home for lunch. We had a fantastic day, but friends and family were horrified! "You must be mad taking people back home that you have only just met!" Well, considering we were all over 50 years of age at the time, I didn't think there was any great risk...
Hi everyone, and thanks for the lovely comments. I've just gotta say, if you ever get a chance to meet a fellow blogger, take it. It is a wonderful experience.
Take care, Meow
