It's Raining ... Yippeeeee !!!

Yep, folks, it is finally raining cats and dogs !!! It has been raining on and off most of the day and night ... it's lovely. I can hear my lawn growing, and becoming green again. My plants and trees are laughing ... it's a wonderful sight !! I don't know if it is drought-breaking rain (I can only hope), but it is certainly good, wet, rain. In north western Victoria, they had so much rain yesterday that they had floods. Our rain hasn't been that extreme here in the south, but it has been constant. Now we only need it to continue for a few weeks !!! At least it is giving the weary fire-fighters a much-needed break ... hope it puts the fires out completely ... fingers crossed.

It is Saturday evening here, around 6pm. I'm about to make dinner. It has been a quiet day, basically washing, folding laundry, and pottering around. Tomorrow I am going to a Kitchen Tea, for my cousin, who is getting married in a month. Should be fun ... a pack of women being silly together !!!

How's your weekend going ??

Have a good one.

Take care,

MEOW

We are looking at a wintery forcast. Possibly snow on Sunday. I am so ready for spring!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Take care,

Hi Meow ~~ How wonderful for you to have all that lovely rain. We are not etting it here yet. A few very short showers and then the humidity is dreadful. Guess it will come.
At least it has helped the fires. Couldn't believe Mildura having floods. Take care, Connie and thank you for that Good Philosophy e mail you sent. I will get round to posting one day. Love, Merle.

I just live a few hundred miles south of Connie and it's cold here, too. We're expecting some sleet and/or snow here, but I love the cold weather and I adore snow!

Cheering with you for the blessing of rain there. I hope it continues until the drought is broken and the reservoir at Bonnie Doon is brim full again!

Just a lazy weekend on the computer here, Meow, if the power doesn't go off, that is, LOL! :-)

Hi Meow, just hope the fires get properly soaked and there is some run-off into the dams.
North Qld. is getting mobs of rain but SE Qld is still pretty dry and the dams are very low.

Yayy for the rain! We had a wet night last night, but not much today.
Can't complain compared to other areas.

Isn't it amazing how a change of weather can bring so much joy to someone?..Not just kids but adults too.
It's been abnormally cold here in the States, so we are ready for Spring...

Oh thank God!
In the last few years, I've fell in love with rain, because it's so needed when it comes. And in the summer it's even more special.
I hope it rains some more :)

We get enough of it here.

Oh, oh, oh! Everyone's getting rain except SE QLD! I listen to the weather and it's wet for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart & Darwin. Brisbane? Fine! This is discrimination and I'm going to complain to the ombudsman!

Connie ... thank you. Hope it doesn't get too cold !!

Merle ... thank you. Shame you haven't had the rain yet ... I know you guys need it more than we do. The humidity was horrible ... nice and cool and windy today.

Diane ... thanks. You like the snow !! That's so cool !! Hope your power didn't go off !!

Peter ... hope the rains get to you soon, your dams are very low, like ours.

Kali ... thank you. Is Tasmania suffering the drought like the mainland ??

Gwen ... thanks. Hope you get some more rain, so your plants get a good soaking !!

Neo ... thank you.

Pea ... thank you. It has stopped raining at the moment ... hopefully more to come !!

Ciscokid ... you're right. Everyone was so pleased with the rain, people were out walking and playing in it. It was great.

Devilmood ... thank you. I hope there's even more, too.

Jean-luc ... send it our way.

Susie ... Hi !!

Lee ... we'll have to go outside and do another rain dance !!

Robyn ... lol ... don't know how much the ombudsman could do ... a rain dance might help !!

Take care, Meow

If I would show your post title here to my friends and neighbourhood, I think they would all (me included) rent an airplane and come over to kill you ! it's raining here at maybe 70% per year so imagine such an offending title !

No, really I am very happy for you that finally it rained and hope it will continue for a while ! It's very good for these awful bushfires hopefully they will stop then. It's really something. Each country has his weather worries now, it's too hot in Australia, too cold in Canada and USA, too stormy and rainy in Europe ! Couldn't we mix it all together and make a better weather for all of us ?

It's really good news that you have rain - you poor things, we think we've got it bad - was talking on the phone to a friend in Melbourne, she says it's not pleasant there at the moment, everything dry as tinder, no wonder there are bushfires.

All okay around where you are?

I wish I could send you some rain. We have had way too much of it. Pat & I took a drive yesterday off the freeways and I was amazed at how many trees have been blown down. Almost every field that is fairly low has a lot of standing water. The ground is so saturated that it can't absorb any more, so new rain just runs off to somewhere else. We need a few weeks of warm, dry sun.

I hope you enjoyed your rain!! We got a little snow. I can't wait for spring showers!!

Congratulations on the rain! I hope it makes in inroad into the draught.

The snow we were supposed to have this past weekend turned into just a “dusting.” Now it just cold: low to mid 20s F.

hope your having a great time.

The rain is here as well....but at least its better than snow :)
