Monday, Monday ...

Hello again, dear blogging friends ...

I haven't had a chance to post since last Wednesday (wow, that's quite awhile ago !!), but I am here now, and I will, for sure, be coming by within the next few hours to visit you all.

Anyway, what have I been doing ....

Thursday ...
I spent most of the day over at my parent's place. Mum & I were going to go shopping together, but she had hurt her back the previous weekend, and shopping would've been too painful for her, so we just hung around and chatted. Dad was there most of the time too. It was lovely, as it was just the 3 of us (I am an only child), and it was like "old" times ... before marriage and parenthood came my way. Now don't get me wrong, I loooooove being married and being a mum, but there's nothing nicer than being the "kid" again with my parents. We talked about all sorts of things, and had a wonderful day. After leaving mum and dad's, I had to do a rush grocery shop, so that I could get it all home, unpack, and get over to Chicky's school early to pick her up and take her to a class at another school. We eventually got home around 5.30, when I cooked dinner, tidied up, and sat back down at this computer, to continue my never-ending typing !!

Friday ...
I spent most of the day at my Aunt and Uncle's, finishing off what I started early last week, sorting out their computer, uninstalling and installing various programs, to make it a happy PC again. They fed me lunch (which was nice), and we then looked at all the photos from our recent Broken Hill holiday. I made it home, just in time to pick up Chicky from school. We were home for only an hour, and then I had to take her and a friend to German lessons. Returned home around 7.30, and put together a quick dinner. Did a few loads of washing. Then more work on the computer. Gosh, what a day !!

Saturday ...
Hung up about 4 loads of washing, which I had washed the previous night ... gosh I hate doing the laundry, but it is a necessary evil !! Chicky had netball in the morning, which Hubby and I both watched. The girls won convincingly, again (they have won 6 out of 6 games so far !!). After leaving netball, we had a quick lunch at McDonalds (healthy !!!), and headed into the city to the 4WD, Outdoors & Fishing Expo. Spent quite a few hours there, getting lots of brochures and ideas, and more dreams !! Headed home, light dinner, and watched some TV. No computer for me, for a change !!!

Sunday ...
Yay, I had a bit of a sleep in. Hubby did an extra shift at work ... 6am till 6pm ... so Chicky and I had the day to ourselves !! We went into Knox City (our local shopping centre) to look for a dress for Chicky to wear to her Grade 6 Graduation dance in December. We spent a few hours scouring the shops, and found a lovely dress and some shoes. Just need to get some accessories (jewellery and stuff), and she's ready to go !! Spent the remainder of the day pottering around on the computer (how unusual !!), and continuing with my typing ... nearly there, thank goodness !! Watched a bit of TV, and off to bed.

So, there you go, that's my last few days. Not very exciting, but very busy !!

What have you been up to ???

I hope you all have a great week.

Take care,

MEOW

A quote I liked ...

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Hey Connie,

Thanks for stopping by my witches's brew. They have somehow managed to take over my blog for all hallow's eve. LOL

It seems just yesterday (to be more accurate, last June) that Pet Lover and I were scouring our stores for a graduation dress, shoes and accessories. She is now safely lodged in her first year of high school.

Congrats to Chicky on her upcoming graduation!

Have yourself a restful and productive week.

Looks like you also had quite a busy week last week! Do you have anything planned for Halloween? :-) We have a holiday coming up (Nov 1) and I called off work on Nov. 2 just so I can catch up on rest (the privileges of owning your own company, hehe). Congratulations to Chicky! God bless you and your family :-)

I've missed you, Meow! I know you are working, though, and that extra money surely does come in handy, especially with the holidays approaching.

How about a pic of your girl kitted out in her new duds? :-)

Hope you have a great week, Ms. Meow. ;D

Hi Meow, would love to see Chicky's graduation pretties.

Glad you liked the birds. Oscar is very good, he knows he is not to chase the birds but sometimes he can't help himself. If I toss out some cat biscuits for the magpies, he rushes out and gobbles up as many as he possibly can (doesn't matter that he's just been fed!), or else he will go out and sit right in the middle of the food with his tail swishing and twitching. The magpies just ignore him and keep eating. They know exactly who's in charge!

You certainly have been busy, but don't forget to take time out for you. Enjoy your week...

Lee-Ann ... thank you so much. My weeks have been so busy lately, I don't know what's going on. Oh, for some time to do nothing !!

Herhimnbryn ... glad you liked the quote. Thank you.

Greeneyes ... thank you. SOmetimes I feel like I spend all day jumping in and out of the car, going here and there. Others, I feel like I am rooted to this darn computer chair !! I guess I am getting itchy feet to travel again ... must scratch them soon !! Huge hugs to you and yours xx

Peter ... I think I want some hum-drum ... send some quick !!

Enid ... thank you. Your halloween post is wonderful. Why do our little babies grow up so fast !!

Chrixean ... we don't really do much for Halloween ... it is really a new-ish sort of craze here. We have always known about it, but in recent years it has gotten big with the kids.

Diane ... thank you. I might post a pic of Chicky in her new duds after the event. Don't want to spoil the surprise yet !!

Merle ... thank you. I'm not really a whizz on the computer, but I am quite capable !! Mum's back is on the mend, thank goodness ... thank you ... hope yours is better, too.

Puss-In-Boots ... isn't it funny watching the cats with magpies ... they are really quite scared of them at times !! Bambi still tries, sometimes, though !!

Hope you all have a great week.

Take care, Meow

Hi Meow
You sure have been a busy beaver.
How lovely you still found time to and sit and chat with your dear Mum and Dad
and you earned your sleep in with all that running around you did.

I'd love to see a picture of the dress and shoes you bought for your daughter!
Do you celebrate Halloween tomorrow in Aussieland?

Hi Meow,

I spent the weekend switching from Blogger to Wordpress.

Btw. What is netball?

Hey, MEOW! I loved reading this...especially your Thursday which closely resembles spending the afternoon and evening with my 87-year-young Aunt. She's very hip and loves popular music and stays up on world events. Savor your Mum and Dad! Precious visits!!!

(((HUGS))) to you this week!

Have a good Spring (hopefully)week :)

hmmm... I've been doing a lot of laundry too. But no doubt less than you because I don't have a Chicky. I have a doggy and he wears the same fur suit every day.

You really seemed to have a very busy week. What is important now is that you're back and in good health.
Thanks for passing by. BTW, I love the quote. Very well said.

Everyone is busy nowadays.... I identify with your quote after a seminar on Change I recently attended.

What is a chook?

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Margaret ... thanks. Yep, time management seems to be something that works for me (mostly) !!

Gwen ... thanks. Chicky's graduation is not until mid December ... we just went shopping early !!

Jeanett ... thank you. Mum and dad are great, and still quite young, fortunately. I love spending time with them.

Cathy ... thanks. I will post a picture of Chicky in her outfit when the time of her graduation comes ... not till mid December !!
Regarding Halloween, it has started to be very popular here, for the last few years. I just bought some sweets, in case we get the kids door knocking !!

Brian ... your Wordpress blog looks nice ... was it a lot of work ?? Netball is a game, sort of similar to basketball, but also very different.

Michael ... thank you. It is wonderful spending time with mum and dad, and they are very young, so we can still do heaps of stuff together.

Clare ... thank you. There are a lot of us "only children" around, aren't there !!
Chicky's dance is not until mid December though ... I will tell you all about it then !!

Devil Mood ... thank you, you too!

Jenn ... laundry is the pits, don't you think !!

Fridays Child ... thank you. Always busy, but healthy always, too !!

Ciscokid ... thank you. A chook is Aussie slang for a chicken !!

Take care, Meow
