I'm Still Here ...
Hi There !!
I'm starting to get on top of my typing, but still have alot to do, so this will be another short post.
I was physically exhausted, after typing just about non-stop for the past couple weeks, so I decided to take the day off yesterday, and barely looked at the computer. I parked myself on the couch ... no TV, no music, just pure quiet ... wonderful ... and picked up a wonderful book which a good friend of mine had recommended. It is called Plain Truth (it's cover is shown in the pic above), and it is one of the best books I have read in a long time. It is quite long, 504 pages, but I finished it this morning, after starting it Monday night ... I couldn't put it down !! Here's what the blurb on the back says about it ...
"Moving seamlessly from psychological drama to courtroom suspense, Plain Truth is a triumph of contemporary storytelling. Jodi Picoult presents a fascinating portrait of Amish life rarely witnessed by those outside the faith - and discovers a place where circumstances are not always what they seem, where love meets falsehood, and where relationships grow strong enough to transcend death.
When Ellie Hathaway decides to defend an unmarried Amish woman against the charge of the murder of her own child, the urban-savvy defence attorney finds herself caught in a clash of cultures with a people whose channels of justice are markedly different from her own. Plain Truth is the extraordinary story of two unforgettable women - and what happens when their disparate worlds collide."
If you can get your hands on this book, and if it sounds like something you would enjoy ... do so, you will love it !!
I want to thank you all for all your wonderful comments. It's great that you keep dropping by, even though my visits to you have been few and far between. Soon (I hope) I will be back to normal. At the moment I have 3 big things to finish (or start !!) ... a huge document to be typed out for a client, a newsletter (which I do monthly) for a committee I am helping out, and the Grade 6 Yearbook for Chicky's primary school graduation. The newsletter I hope to have done by tomorrow, the big document I hope to do over the next few days ... then I can concentrate on the Yearbook, which is a huge job, but it will be a fun one. I need to fiddle around with lots of photographs, and graphics, and lots of typing up of individual student profiles, and stuff like that. I can't wait to sink my teeth into it, as I have been putting it off due to all the other jobs I have had on.
We are planning on heading into the 4WD show at the Exhibition Centre (also known as Jeff's Shed) on Saturday afternoon, after Chicky's netball. Should be fun. We always enjoy attending these shows, as well as caravan and camping shows. Get's the itchy feet itching for travel again !!
I took my kitty, Bambi, to the vet today, for her annual vaccination. She got the once over from the vet, and was pronounced in excellent health. The poor little thing tried to bury herself in my arms ... usually unheard of for this cat, as she doesn't generally like being held for too long. It was a challenge to get her out of her carry-basket initially ... I had to dismantle it ... as she had put herself in the furthest corner and held on tight !! Once the vet was finished with her, boy did she get back in that basket quick smart !!! It's really quite comical, as she generally hates the basket when we take her to the boarding cattery !! Poor baby, but at least we know she is one healthy cat !!
I have still been receiving postcards from you, my wonderful blog friends, and yesterday received a gorgeous little parcel from another wonderful blog friend. I haven't had a chance to scan or photograph all these things, so as soon as I have, I will share them all with you. Thank you everyone for caring ... hugs to you all.
Anyway, back to the grind-stone ... this typng won't do itself. I hope to drop by in the next couple of days.
Enjoy the remainder of the week.
Take care,
MEOW
(PS. I guess this wasn't such a short post in the end, after all *giggle* !)

Sounds like an interesting book, my only problem is the only thing that I have time to read is nursing text books.
Hi Meow, just as well some of us keep the wheels turning, stick to it.
I'd hate to see your long posts!! LOL just teasing you! I'm catching up on all the posts I missed while I was away...it's 1:27 a.m. here and it's way past my bedtime but I wanted to visit all my friends first:-) That book you read sounds really fascinating..I haven't read a book in so long, don't know if I'd remember how!! Sounds like you've been really busy...just remember to take a breather once in a while:-) Hugs xox
I know I haven't checked in for awhile...just catching up!
The book sounds intriguing...I'm participating in Callapidder Days' Fall into Reading, but I'm lagging a bit behind!
Just finished posting part 2 on our family's misadventures in Hawaii...I'm still recovering from this trip! :)
Blessings!
Wow Meow, I love all your blogs! How busy you must be! The book sounds good, but I have this terrible habit of starting multiple books and not getting through them. I am now focusing on three at a time.
You've been busy, girl! But I'm glad you still had time to take a break - breaks are lovely but, of course, they only work when we've been busy. I'm having an extended break :)
Hiya Meow, book does sound like a good read I will see if I can track it down. I always have a book on the go, sometimes I am only able to read a couple of chapters before I fall asleep when I am really busy,
Cheers Margaret
I enjoy your short posts ;)
Best to you!! take care in this busy season. Remember to take time out for you!!!
Hi Meow.
You are one busy kitty. Don't wear your fingers down to the bone, lol!
I'm glad your puddy tat is healthy. Oscar hates his carrier, too. He equates it to scary happenings, especially after last time.
Take care
Robyn
I thought that was a great book too. Many of her books are extremely good, though some of them I haven't read because the subject matter just seems so intense.
Have a good weekend!
Hi Meow
Looks like a good book. it will take me 2 years to catch up on all the books i have here. Im reading a Di Morresey at the moment.

Always fun to read what you are up to! The book does sound good!
I am glad Bambi is fine. I need to get mine to the vet but will wait until the first of the year. With 3 it is quite the chore to do!
You have a plate full and sounds like most of it you are enjoying!
When you stop by make sure you look for my photos on our trip out last week! They aren't as wonderful as yours but they really show the season change.
Hope your week has been good. Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

I think I read that book a long time ago, or at lest started reading it. I have a bad habit of starting a book and setting it down and never finishing it.
Wow, sounds like a great book. And the cover is so beautiful. Rare that a book cover captivates me.

Dr. Deb ... yep, it sure is a beautiful cover, along with a fascinating, can't put down story.
Thanks everyone, I will be back in circulation soon, promise !!
Take care, Meow
Hang in there, hon! You're missed when you're not around.
I've seen that book in the store and thought it looked really good. Books are so expensive here these days. I must join a library :).
Hope you finish your typing soon and managed to have a good weekend.
Saur ... thanks, I miss you all, too.
Clare ... thanks. It is a great book. I only borrowed it from the library, too. The amount I read, it would cost me a fortune to buy all the books. Libraries are wonderful.
Take care, Meow
