The Week That Was

Hello Everyone,

I hope you have all had a great week. Mine has been busy, hectic, weird ... as per usual !!

I worked Monday and Wednesday (which seems to have become my regular days). Tuesday I was meant to go on a picnic with some fellow bloggers (Val, Gina & Miss Eagle, and others), but some family stuff prevented me from going ... judging by their photos and blog commentary, it was great fun ... wish I could've been there.

Thursday was a day of shopping, housework and cooking ... I had my parents over for dinner, and we had a lovely dinner, and a lovely evening.

Friday was off to the vet with Bambi. Basically for her yearly vaccination, but also for a check-up, as she had been off colour since Monday night. She didn't eat all day Tuesday and Wednesday, and just slept all day, not even going outside, barely moving. I was horrified that something terrible was wrong, and I basically had her dead and buried (in my head) ... that's how freaked out I had become by Thursday. Anyway, turns out she had hurt herself, somewhere in the joint of one of her back legs, and, as cats are prone to do, she decided to sleep herself better. By Thursday morning, she had had a little to eat (some sliced turkey meat, which I hand fed her !!), and some water, and went outside briefly. Friday morning she was almost back to her usual cheeky self. The vet, on Friday, gave her a pain killer needle (as well as her vaccination), and said otherwise she seemed in excellent health. So, we came home, and the silly kitty felt sorry for herself, and slept some more (I think the vet may have hurt her sore leg, during the poking, pulling, and prodding, trying to find out where it hurt !!). Then later Friday evening, she was outside, being her normal curious self, and the little sh*t got herself into a cat fight !!! What's with that ?? Of course, then she came inside, felt sorry for herself, didn't want to eat again, and went to sleep. This morning (Saturday) she woke up sore again ... stupid animal !! Self inflicted this time. She seems ok this afternoon, off and running around outside. Still not hugely interested in food ... I guess that will come back soon !! Cats !!!

As you may (or may not !) know, I got a new computer, running Windows Vista, last week. I love it, and I think I have everything set up on it that I want. It is running beautifully, and so much quicker than the other one. I set up a wireless router, so Chicky and I can now be on the internet at the same time (she on my old computer), and she doesn't have to beg me for the computer, so she can do homework (or chat on MSN, or MySpace, or whatever !!). Anyway, I thought I'd show you what the new machine looks like ...

Ain't it purrty !!!

Anyway, that's enough for me for now ... I plan to spend the next few hours visiting some (if not all) of your blogs, checking up on what you have been up to all week.

In closing, I would like to leave you with the following little pic ...

Take care,

Good to see you, Connie. You have been busy...with your cat!

I love the photo of her asleep with her paw over her eyes...cute.

Windows Vista, that's the latest one, isn't it? I must check it out.

Enjoy your weekend and I hope you find some time for you.

Gidday Connie,

New computers, like lots of new things often tend to cause some sort of problems at first but once the bugs are worn out, then you wonder what your were worried about.
I've also installed a router for when Peter comes down for a visit, as we now don't have to share the one broadband line into my computer. It sure makes sharing much easier, as you would know with your daughte.

That is a nice computer. Wish I could have one like that too. Wasn't able to visit for quite some time as my computer broke down and just got fixed this week. How long? I don't know.
Hope everything is well with you.

Glad your kitty's doing better. I've had some give me the same sort of scare when I wasn't sure they'd make it through the night.

Unfortunately, sometimes I was right but usually they pull out of whatever it was that was bothering them.

Enjoy your new computer. Mine keeps chugging along but my son's laptop has Vista and he loves it.

Hi, Connie. That was a nice catch up post. :-)

I'd like to have a new laptop and wireless router, maybe in time for Christmas, but we'll see....

The things our furkids put us through! I've done the very same thing, thinking they weren't going to make it and already grieving for them, then they snap out of it! Cats! Phooey! ;o)

It's noon Saturday here as I type this so we're in the middle of our weekend. Hope you have a great Sunday and new week!

Love and hugs,

Diane

Oh how I understand your worries with Bambi !! I also always see them at least half dead and then it turns out it is not so terrible. Cats are awful for that !
Congratulations to your new laptop ! Are you happy with Vista ? I heard a lot of negative things about it.

I am quite busy with the Exposition of my painting group, yesterday was vernissage and today I will be there again the whole day ! (on my blog)

Hi Connie ~~ Glad your Bambi is better and has enough nous to stay out of fights for a while. The new computer looks nice, and I have had no trouble with Vista either.
Thanks for your comments about John's skin cancer. I hope the surgeon got it all, and he has another one in 2 weeks time. I was a week early with Daylight Savings Time - it's next weekend. It is 33 here today, but we expect rain tomorrow. Even the radio announcers now say "I'll believe it when I see it." Same here. Take care, Love, Merle.

It's a great machine you've got there! :) It's always nice to have new 'toys' to play with.

I'm so glad Bambi is fine, pets give us some great scares sometimes.

I hope this week is just as hectic but with a little more time to yourself, okay?
