CATS ON TUESDAY # 12

We all know what independant, two-faced critters cats can be (don't deny it, it is all true !!). They generally do what they want, when they want to do it ... no rules for them, they're the boss, we're the slaves !!

Well, I just wanted to share with you how privileged I feel that such a creature is able to show me such love. Yes, my Bambi loves me .... I know it's true .... she tells me in so many ways. She singles me out, when we are all sitting in the loungeroom, with willing laps awaiting her presence. She choses to sleep with, and on, me ... rather than with Hubby or Chicky. She comes inside throughout the day, walks over to me, looks up at me and meows ... just so I will give her a pat ... then she happily goes back outside to play. She licks me, and rubs against me, and just generally snuggles with me. OK, I know that I am the one that feeds her, so she knows that I am the one she needs to be nice to !! But, I feel it goes deeper than that ... she loves me, I know she does !!!

Bambi

I had just such a deep and meaningful relationship with my dear old Ratbag, too. He was a great old boy, who showed me his love in many more ways than Bambi does ... with great head-butts and face rubs ... gosh I miss that !!

Ratbag

I think that being loved by a four-legged furry critter is just the best feeling in the world. It should be part of all our lives. It is something so very special.

Take care,

Oh Meow, that was sooooo beautiful. I always feel immediately comfortable with people who love cats. Well, all animals really, but cats in particular. As you say, so independent, and we feel so pleased when they single us out. Ken chose Topsy from a room full of kittens at the Cat Protection Society; I would have preferred another kitten, but he won. Except now it looks like I won...Topsy bypasses Ken every time she is looking for a lap! He is most put out.

That's a real tender post ! With Pookie I have the same feeling and it's not even me who feeds her, Mr. Gattino is the canopener of the house ! But she is always with me she doesn't leave me an hour alone. It's really sweet. The others love me too I am sure, but the attachment is not so intense.

People who say cats are mean and not loving have no idea.... no idea whatsoever. All the cats I have had are loving. They all have different ways of showing it, but they all are loving. I think cats are better at sizing people up than we are. They just don't waste their time on those they sense don't like them.

2 Cats have me, but Candy is MY kitty. She has always been more partial to me than my hubby or my daughter.

Dolly, my other kitty, is an attention slut, and will cozy up to whoever will give her the most attention and petting, LOL! ;D

Of all my cats, Cleo the new cat likes me the best. She singles me out too. If I leave the bedroom door open guess who shows up most of the time?

Fred the fat orange cat is hit or miss. Sometimes he comes to visit. And when he does he is very nice, he just purrs loudly and lets you pet him. That is until he has had enough then he attacks you. But he keeps purring.

Gigi the calico cat also likes me, but she is strange. She likes to sleep at the foot of the bed, or on top of the Playstation console (which is on top of the satellite TV box which is on top of the DVD player which is on top of the tuner/amp for the stereo which is on top of the mini-disk player which is on top of the 200 disk CD changer which is on top of a low dresser - the cat likes to get on high stuff).

Sake hates everyone. Or at least me. She almost never comes by to visit. If I capture her it does not take long for her to start growling and plotting escape. But she still likes me to feed her.

I grew up always having a cat and I remember the love I had for them. They would never go to my brothers, it was always ME they would come to as soon as I'd get home from school and we were always cuddling together:-) That poem in your previous post was just beautiful...very sad but so true. Thank you for sharing it with us!! xox

I feel the same about my two adoptive cats - they are truly appreciative of the food and the cuddles. And instead of them keeping me company, I think I'm the one that keeps them company.

I'm sure the feelings are mutual. I love my cats and they love me! Thanks for making me take a moment to appreciate the puddies, once again!

I wish mine would love the furniture a little less, and keep their love off the beds, and what not.

Meow! During my power-walking last night I came across a house with two identical Orange Cats. One was outside and walked past my path twice (I believe it must be hard of hearing). But hey! No bad luck with an Orange Cat! :)

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I have been a bit on the "soppy" side regarding my kitties these past couple of posts. I get like that sometimes ... I'm just a big softie !!
Hope your week is going well.
Thanks for all your comments ... you are all wonderful.
Take care, Meow

Never let anyone tell you cats don't show their love of you, Meow. I know mine do me. If I go out into the yard when mine are out there during the day...I don't see them but they see me and come running up to me, talking all the way. It's wonderful. I was just sitting out on the grass a little while ago and both joined me, talking to me and rolling around next to me all the time. I know my two love me...the tell me and show me all the time. :)

Cats are sometimes subtle in the way they show affection, I think, but to a perceptive person (such as you are), the signs of their love are very clear. Bambi sounds very sweet and your memories of Ratbag remind me of my dear Chester, who is also gone.

My Silver has to be on my lap in the evenings, and if I stand in front of the recliner instead of sitting down in it, he will get up on his hind legs and dig his front claws into the clothes covering my back to let me know he wants me to sit down and hold him! Stevie mostly shows her affection at night by licking my hand or my face and sleeping by my head. Little Socks is still a work in progress and as she hasn't yet outgrown being a kitten, she bites out of love! (At least, that's what I tell myself. LOL!)

Yes, I agree, we are privileged to have the love of these little furry creatures.

I couldn't have said it better, Meow. Those of us who are "cat people" know that it's more than just cupboard love.

Cats surely do have a way of letting us know they love us...not just for food but because they have bonded with us.

Lovely post, Meow.

Hugs

Yes the little steak was for Arthur, but when he sees raw meat he always gets crazy ! His half "moustache" doesn't bother him, it bothers Mr. Gattino who regrets it so much, but it hadn't been his fault ! Still like your new job ?

Love the pictures! I have a 23 pound Tabby named Simba. He has some Mancoon in him. I'll post a picture of him. Actually, I think I posted one of him around Christmas time to show his size. Take care.
