What Have I Been Up To ?

Hello Everyone ... I'm back again !! Seems like I keep having these blog breaks, unintentionally of course, but that's the way it is in my world at the moment !!

So, what have I been up to ?? Well ....

My parents returned home from their trip to Germany last Thursday. It was wonderful to see them, it was a very loooong seven weeks. They had a brilliant time, touring areas they had never seen, and catching up with lots of friends and rellies whilst over there. They took a heap of photos, which I am still yet to see ... soon, I hope.

I worked on Friday, which ended up being a reasonably long day ... I'm not used to working 3 days, rather I usually do only 2 ... Monday and Wednesday. But, the money is always nice .... I went out today and lashed out on a new gadget for my iPod ... an iFM, which turns my iPod into an FM radio with a little remote control. Really cool, I loooove gadgets !!

On Saturday, Chicky and I went along to a netball match, where her best friend was playing. It was a grand final, a great close game, but unfortunately, her friend's team lost ... only just, though. We then headed off to do a bit of shopping, then to catch up with my mum and dad. Saturday night, Chicky has a sleep-over party at another friend's place. Seems they decided not to sleep all night, so when I picked her up Sunday morning, she (and all the others, too) was an absolute mess ... pale, tired and grumpy !! What fun !! A sleep-deprived 13 year old girl is not the best person to be around !! I sent her to bed early, and she went quite willingly ... surprise, surprise !!

Sunday was a potter-around, doing housework, kind of day !! Caught up on the washing, and my house now looks sparkly clean again !!

Monday I worked all day, then Chicky had a dance class in the evening. Whilst she was in dance class, I sat in the car (for an hour and a half) and read. I don't mind this, it gives me some me-time, in the little coccoon of my car, with the radio or iPod playing. I am still reading the Harry Potter books. Since the new one came out a few weeks ago, I read it, then went back to the beginning and started again. Now, after reading all 6 older books, I am back re-reading the latest one ... and I am discovering stuff I seem to have missed the first time around. They really are great books ... J.K. Rowling is a brilliant writer ... at least I think so !!

Now, today, I am in computer mode ... I hope to get around to many of your blogs today, and the remainder during the rest of the week. I have been browsing, through Google Reader, and goodness ... some of you sure have been busy. I look forward to having a good old read, and leaving comments.

I have been honoured with another award ... a Nice Matters Award ... this time from 2 wonderful ladies ... Merle and Connie. Thank you, both of you ... I constantly feel priviledged to have met you all, and love this blog world we all play in.

Now, I need to choose 8 people to hand this award on to. It has been doing the rounds, so I probably will be doubling up, you may have already received this award. Now, who to choose ...

1. Chloe
2. DaybyDay
3. Diane
4. Melinda
5. Greeneyes
6. Clare
7. Nicole
8. Michelle

I could have chosen many, many more ... next time !!

So, what have you been up to ?? Hope you had a brilliant weekend.

Enjoy the remainder of your week.

Take care,

Again you've been keeping busy, Meow. Me, too, it seems...I'm behind a bit in catching up with everyone's blog! It's blowing a gale up this way, but we've been having some wonderful rain with it, which is great and much needed.

Take care and have a great week, Connie. :)

Sounds like you've been busy with life again! lol I swear sometimes there aren't enough hours in a day to do everything that needs to be done! Right now I'm in the middle of my canning and pickling so that's cutting into my blogging visits...ugh! Great to hear that your parents are now home safely, sounds like they had a wonderful time in Germany!! Congrats on the Nice award, you certainly deserve it:-) xox

I could really relate to your experience of waiting in the car while Chicky had a class. I know EXACTLY what you mean, sitting in the car, reading or listening to the radio, does feel like being in a cocoon, so cosy. You can relax because you know where she is and some other adult is in charge. My sons used to have piano and guitar lessons and I always think of those peaceful times when I pass the places where I'd park and read. It's good that you have recognised this quality time and appreciate it, Meow.

I think we all fall into these "blogless weeks" where we get so busy with life that we forget to share. Summer continues.. At least here on our part of this little world.

Hi Connie, sound like you have been rather busy. Oooooh, a 13-year-old who's had no sleep. I'm not hanging round...lol!

I'm so glad those days are over for me, my long ago sleep deprived teenagers now have to put up with their own karma...heheh!

Glad to read your parents had a great trip and returned home safe & sound.

What kind of sleepover would it be if Chicky got to actually sleep?! C'mon! That's not what those are for! Especially not at 13! ;-)

Enjoy the rest of your week (what's left of it!)!

So I've been gifted twice today! First I received the CD you sent me and now I find you've given me the Nice Matters Award!

Thank you so much, Connie. I appreciated both the CD and the award. I haven't had a chance to listen to the CD but I've already seen several favorites and some that are new to me. I'm anxious to listen to it but it's almost 1 am here and it will have to be tomorrow before I get to hear them.

Hope all is well in your world, dear friend. ;-)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Congratulations to your award ! I got it too. So your parents are back from Germany. It's a pity that they had such a bad weather. Coming from Australian's winter to Germany's winter (sorry supposed to be summer) has certainly been not so nice. But I am sure the most important for them was to see old friends again.

Wow thanks so much.
I understand about being too busy to get in blog mode. The weather here as alos put a damper on that. With two days of intense electrical storms I dare not even turn it on.

Oh my sleep deprived girls are the worst. My daughter always does this and then takes it out on me. It doesn't get better with agae either. Sorry!

Sometimes there are priorities that have to be done more than just blogging. Blogging makes me feel relieved from stress, It makes me meet other people from different parts of the world, however I sometimes can't blog too at times when I'm really really busy. I do understand your absence too.

Hi Meow!!

This has been a busy summer over here. I wonder where the time goes, wont be long and Autumn will be here, with the snows right behind it. ICK. I love the picture of your cat looking at the fish tank. TOO CUTE!! Made me chuckle. What goes thru the minds of our animal friends, if only they could talk!

Bun-Bun is pretty quiet, but when she wants to scold me she manages to muster up a few sqeaks.

You take care...

When it's summertime, infrequent posts on a blog are a good sign--people are outside having fun and keeping busy. :)
