Happy Sunday ...

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick g'day from me to you.

It has been a fairly quiet weekend ... did some washing, some cooking, lots of reading, and lots of blog reading (please let me know if I have somehow missed out on visiting your blog ... please forgive me if I have.)

I just wanted to say, too, a big thank you to all of you for your great, thoughtful comments on my last couple of posts. You are all such amazing people, and I cherish all your friendships with all my heart. The blog-world is a wonderful place

Chicky is over at a friend's place, I need to leave in about 1/2 an hour to pick her up ... they are visiting a couple of boys ... OMG, my 13 year old little baby is interested in boys ... that is so not fair !! Now Hubby will have to buy a shotgun (just kidding) for when the boys come a-calling !! She is a pretty girl, with a great little personality, and a lot of friends (OK, I am biased ... but it's all true), so I don't imagine I will be worrying about her being a little wall-flower ... quite the opposite, I guess !! Should be an interesting (?!?!) few years coming up !!

I hope you have all been having a great weekend. It is Sunday late afternoon, 1/4 to 5, as I write this ... my weekend's just about gone ... back to work tomorrow, and then again Wednesday.

I leave you all with a great quote that I currently have on my computer desktop ...

Have a great week.

Take care,

Hi Connie. Your little girl is growing up! It's a sad/sweet time, isn't it? Part of the changes of life we all went through and no doubt our parents had the same reactions as we did.

I hope you're getting some rain...our last decent rain was in June and not a drop since and there won't be any for a few months yet. Not looking forward to bush fire season.

Have a good week.

Hi Connie ~~ Boys already!!
What a time you have ahead of you, but if you have taught her well, which I think you would, she will be OK and sensible. Wouldn't hurt to cross your fingers though too!!
Glad you liked the Heron Peter gave me and your squirrel sounds nice. When do your parents get home from their trip? I hope they are enjoying it. I have plenty of CD s Connie so don't worry about that. BTW my weeds are the fastest growers also. Glad you have had a good weekend. Take care, Much love, Merle.

Hi Connie, thanks for visiting Patra's Places! If your Chicky is anything like her Mum, she won't have any trouble making and keeping friends all through her life. I am so pleased to have met you through blogging, and look forward to continuing an off-cyberspace friendship!

Hi Connie, I'll find and send you (for hubby) "Rules for dating my daughter".

Heh, I think I remember reading Peter's rules for dating his daughter...!

Your quote goes well with my motto, Connie.

That's a colourful image on your desktop.

Chicky sounds a little like my sister (except she sounds a lot nicer). My sister is a total social butterfly, I honestly can't remember a day where she spent the whole day at home...she's always flying off one place or another...

and the funny thing is...she used to be a total wallflower when she was young.

They grow up so fast these days. Our 14 yr old grandson is quite interested in girls (and they in him!)

What with the firearms restrictions and all, I'd suggest a baseball bat or the threat of same!

I bet your daughter is a doll. Good luck with those teenage years to come...lol I think we probably all drove our parents crazy.lol

Take care,
Connie

Happy Sunday. Or is it monday already by you!

I'm glad those teen years are behind Jessica, but now we'll be going through them with Emmy in a few years. Hopefully Chickie won't give you any real trouble and will be a popular, well liked typical teenaged girl.

Hope you have a great week, Connie. ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

The shotgun is a good idea. If you can not get one of those due to laws, then bear mace works. You need the bear mace, regular mace may not be strong enough.

I'm happy for you that the sun has been shining. I remember 13. It was a time for teen magazine boys... Kirk Cameron, Micheal J. Fox...

This new avitar is temporary. I need a change.

Hi there Connie...these next few years are very important...and it's the time you must always have an "open" home and "open" heart. I've always believed that if your children's friends are welcome at all times in your home, you will have few problems. Anyway, teenagers can be so much fun to be around...keep your home a welcome haven for them. :)

When I read that your thirteen year old daughter was visiting some boys with a friend, I got butterflies in my stomach. My daughter (Twelve) is getting there, and it freaks me out since I remember being a thirteen year old girl oh too well.
