We also call them crossing guards here in Washington State and one is quite well known. He must be well into his 70s now, has a full beard like Santa Claus and always wears a different hat daily, most of which are very different.

I thought about maybe getting a Christmas season job at someplace like Office Depot but kind of don't want to fail retirement by taking a job.

Thanks for your visit to my site. I'll come by more often to check yours now that you are getting back into blogging. When she retired they threw a huge party for her and put her name in the paper, etc. The thing she loved about it was having the opportunity to touch the lives of so many kids each day. She could tell you stories that would bring a tear to your eye.

I think you will be the perfect lollipop lady and have a smile for those kids who may not be feeling so happy on their way to school - or on their way home.Bar L.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11100008292699584336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19370354.post-5046523560070181132011-10-25T06:13:24.429+11:002011-10-25T06:13:24.429+11:00Well done Connie. I was asked if I'd like to do it, but I said no thanks, as (a) it would tie me down too much and (b) I don't like kids that much - ha!Gina E.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07532527261977368083noreply@blogger.com
