A Little Bit Of Fog ...

I looked out my front door this morning, and discovered it was rather foggy. Not a pea-souper, but fog never-the-less !! I grabbed my camera, and decided to share my view with you.

The first photo is from our front door, looking at the road and our over-the-road neighbours. (That's my car hiding behind the trees !!)

The second photo is from outside our house (near the front door), looking toward the south-west (sort of), looking at our corner-garden ... do you like the succulents ??

After all the lovely sunny days we have been having, I guess it was time that Winter became Winter !! The forecast is looking pretty yucky for the next few days. Thank goodness for central heating.

Fog

The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking over
harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

Carl Sandburg

I may not be around much for the next few days, as I have a couple of huge typing jobs to do. So, whilst I may be in front of the computer, I may not have much opportunity to blog (I will try and answer any comments, however, as they come to me via email, and my MailWasher notifies me when emails come through).

So, to all of you, have a great Friday, and a fabulous weekend. I will be back soon.

Take care,

MEOW

Wow, what a pretty area you live in! It's rainy here, and has been for over half of the day. We need it, so who am I to complain? It's fitting, considering that it's the first day of Hurricane Season here.

It's hot and humid here, and we had a thunderstorm earlier, Praise the Lord!! It has been so dry, and we could use even more rain. I suppose if you have to work anyway, this is a good time to stay indoors and type. And, yes, I do love your succulents, and love seeing a glimpse of your neighborhood and where you live. Love all your photos, as a matter of fact. :-) Hope you have a productive weekend, Meow. I have to do some laundry and clean up my living room..... :-( It has to be done, so I'd best quit whining and get busy, LOL. Take care, Meow. :-)

Heidie ... thank you, that's a wonderful compliment for us Aussies !!

Saurkraut ... thank you, it is a nice area ... been here for 19 years now, it certainly has changed heaps in that time. Hope the Hurricanes don't hit you doo hard.

Diane ... hope the rains come soon !! You are right, if I have to be inside, it needs to be really yuck outside, then I won't feel like I'm missing out on anything !! Thank you, I am glad you like my photos ... I enjoy sharing them.

Take care everyone. Have a great few days, Meow

Hi Meow, it's sunny but still cold here, (that's Queensland cold, you know 23c heh heh)
My life is slowly returning to normal after the whirlwind visit by 3 of my kids and 1 grandson,
I've nearly caught up on my blog reading, happy birthday to Hubby for the 27th BTW.

Hot here of course. Try not to work too hard.

Typing does not sound like fun for the weekend - hope you get a bit of a relax as well!

You have a very nice garden.

I keep looking at people's gardens because I've been spending hours and hours getting the weeds out of our front yard landscaping. It's made me notice everyone else's, realizing these things don't stay nice looking without a lot of hard work.

I love the photos - I love fog, especially in the summer but I haven't seen it for a while. But the pictures are very fresh, thanks!

Peter ... thank you. You Queenslanders are so lucky to have warmer temps. I guess that's why so many of us travel north during Winter !! Sounds like you had a great birthday weekend.

Granny ... thanks, I'll try.

Kylee ... thank you.

Megz Mum ... no, it doesn't sound too much fun. I'd better get backk to it !!

Jenn ... I'm not a fan of gardening. I think gardens should look after themselves !!

Connie ... thank you, I'll try.

Daybyday ... I hope your friend is OK. Thanks.

Devil Mood ... thank you. Fog is nice, sometimes !!

Reverberate ... I agree, driving in fog can be really scary ... especially areal pea-souper where you cannot see 2 feet in front of you !!

Thanks friends, I had better get back to my typing.

Have a great weekend.

Take care, Meow

Oh, yeah, Chicky's dance group came second in their section ... they danced really well. They are really excited, and we are so proud.

PJ ... I really love the silence that comes with fog ... kinda creepy, but nice !! I will let you know when the postcards arrive. Thanks.

Bossy Britches ...thank you.

Take care, everyone, and have a great weekend ... (tired) Meow x

Is that plant near the road displaying yellow flowers? In your winter?

The fog is light and that is an attractive fog. Not too bad to drive through but it does neat things for photos.

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Dick ... the plant is not flowering, it is the lovely colour of the foliage. I think it is called a Golden Diosma, so something like that ... pretty, isn't it !!
Luckily it was only a light fog. I remember in the past driving home one evening, the fog dropped, and I couldn't see the edge of the road. I was too scared to stop, in case anyone hit me, and I ended up crawling at almost idle speed, until I got through it. That would have to have been the most scary time I have ever driven.
Take care, have a good weekend, Meow

This may because I live in a desert where there is never fog... but I think fog is beautiful and mysterious. Thanks for sharing those great pictures! Don't work too hard this weekend.

You have a beautiful front garden. The succulents are lovely.

Have a great weekend!

Bar L. said...

Oh its lovely even with fog!!!

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Loraloo ... living in a desert would be wonderfully fascinating. All the different varieties of plants would be amazing.

Viamarie ... thank you.

Barbara ... thank you.

Take care, friends. Meow

I love fog. I also like that Carl Sandburg poem. I've heard it somewhere before. Have a great weekend.

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Phil ... thank you. He has some interesting poems, doesn't he !!

Susie ... that's just naughty me parking on the nature strip the wrong way ... I was too lazy to turn the car around !!! It is a double ended court ... like a T shaped road. Our house is only little ... 3 bedrooms, about 13 square (don't know what that equates to in your way of measuring house size !!)

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Take care, Meow

That's a beautiful area in which to live, Meow.

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Nicole ... I don't know how cold it is where you are, but I know it is really cold here, particularly at night (but quite nice during the days ... I've had my doors and windows open !!)

Reverberate ... thank you so much. I love putting together stuff like that. I am currently working on a photo journal type blog of our whole Cape York trip last year ... I kept a paper journal, and am transcribing it to the blog ... will take some time, but will happen !!

Jean-luc ... why, thank you. We love it here, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else !!

Take care, friends. Hope the weekend was good. Typing is now over, new post is forthcoming !!

See ya, Meow

I remember the Victorian Fogs as a young girl, they can be beautiful but eerie. Here our temps are plummeting to minus at nite but the days have been divine. We had our first black frost last week which wiped out alot of the beautiful gardens, mine did not suffer to badly,as I had covered the more fragile ones.Lovely garden.

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Kyahgirl ... thank you. Like most of my plants, these succulents thrive from neglect !!

True Blue Guy ... thank you. Yes, fog is nice sometimes, but it is really cold at the moment, so it is not too much fun !!

Autumn ... thanks for letting me know. I have changed my bookmark.

Michelle ... 7 overnight is cool for Queensland, isn't it ?? 25 during the day is wonderful, though.

Gail ... oooh, black frosts, they sound nasty. I don't think we get them here. Hope your garden makes it through the Winter. Take care on the roads, too.

Thanks friends. Have a great week. Take care, Meow

Meow (aka Connie) said...

Chloe ... thank you, it is a pretty area. And fog is kind of dreamy ... I love the silence that comes with it ... the birds seem to hide, and everything !!
Take care, Meow
